If I could give zero stars, I would. I went into this establishment on Wednesday, June 25th and initially was greeted by no one. I didn’t take this to heart as it seemed to be pretty busy during the time that I had arrived. (around 12-1pm) Eventually I was noticed by someone who gestured me to sign in and wait my turn to be called. I waited roughly 5 minutes (not bad) , before they called my name to assist me. I had an engagement ring that I was looking to get an appraisal on. My ring is made of white gold with diamonds, which I informed the woman who had come to help with my appraisal. She was not a pleasant person, to say the least and did not seem happy to be doing her job (or maybe she just didn’t like me for whatever reason lol). She was not very friendly. She took the ring and starts examining it as I would expect, but she immediately frowns and mumbles under her breath “ yup… no stamp on this…” after only looking at it for about 10 seconds. She then grabs another gentlemen to come look at the ring and he also takes about 10 seconds to examine it before saying “yeah that’s not gold at all, and there’s no stamp”. He gives the ring back to the women after they mumble under their breath with each other a little more and she then approaches me with the ring saying “ yeah this is not gold, this is sterling silver and the most you’re going to get for it is maybe a couple dollars, but not from us” . Not only was this an embarrassing experience (as she announced this false information in front of many people) but the entire situation was completely mishandled, not to mention ; they were both very rude and lacked even the most basic communication skills in that moment. I assured the woman that I had bought the ring less than 5 years ago from a reputable jeweler and that I was certain it was in fact what I had informed her of in the beginning (white gold with diamonds) She then got annoyed and stated “ma’am we just tested it, and it is sterling silver, and these are just white stones”. I asked her to look at it again and she refused. I left in frustration and immediately went to the jeweler that I had purchased the ring from. They were able to pull up my account , and confirm that the ring I had in hand was in fact the ring that I had purchased from them some years ago, and also were able to physically show me under their microscope that the ring was stamped, and was in fact real gold with real diamonds. She also showed me the damage that was caused by the woman/gentlemen who had “examined” my ring at “Gold in Art”. Just an over all terrible experience, huge thumbs down. I would never go here for an appraisal , or anything for that matter. Not until some attitudes are changed around there. Based on other reviews I’m assuming this must not happen often but once is enough for me. — I would also like to add that the manager of the jeweler where I had purchased the ring, made a call to “Gold in Art” to inform them of the situation in hopes to make sure something like this does not happen again, and unfortunately she was also treated with rude behavior over the phone. - I am posting this late because I actually made sure to get an investigation done at the establishment where I purchased my ring just to be certain it was what I knew it to be, and the investigation proved that my ring was in-fact white gold...
Read moreBesides having fair prices and interesting jewelry in their cases, they are personable and kind. They have a way of making you feel that you are their only customer - that the repair or redesign of your piece is important. ~ I brought them a pair of diamond earrings I had in my drawer for years that I was unable to wear due to damage. They took the time to think creatively and drew a new design for my approval.Three days later, my old favorite earrings became my new favorite necklace! ~ I brought them my mother's beautiful gold filigree wedding band that was cut off her finger years ago. I just wanted it soldered close. They studied and replicated the complicated design - no one can spot the repair! I LOVE how they care and respect the pieces brought in for repair or redesign. They've more than...
Read moreThis is a very nice store. Although ever time I go and walk in, no one ever looks up to say hi or even acknowledges me. So I stand there until someone finally says to me someone Will help you as soon as I can, rather than saying hi how are you somebody will be right with you. In any case I just needed my battery to be changed out of my watch which is always free. But unfortunately this time when I did my dishes water leaked right into my watch. I do understand once they open the back the seal is broken but this should have happened with this particular watch. So I'm very disappointed and it just happened to ruin a $500 watch. What are you going...
