Me and my family stopped by here today to grab some lunch.....I've been wanting to try it myself, ever since I signed up with Big Dans Carwash, LOL.
Anyway, out of the 2 separate plates of: (1) meat, rice and beans.... and a "plate" of one Burrito, it's safe to say we won't be back!
The pastor was SO DRY!! There is no way it had just come off of that big nice twirling piece they had for show back there..... Me and my father kinda looked up at each other after trying it a few times and both said to each other : "This is the worst pastor I've had".....and with the 3 separate plates and 3 drinks it set us back $42.
The rice and beans were OK....the one thing I will give them is that the rice and beans were super hot in temperature, which is always a nice thing :)
Finally, I know this is completely personal preference and that it's probably custom in their region to use corn tortillas......we HATE them. :-/ It would have made it a bit better to have flour tortillas to use to.........shove it down with.
It was nice to see they had tables and chairs out there to eat at, with napkins in a holder so they don't blow away and trash cans right there behind you to throw your stuff away.
With all of that said though, it sure seemed to be a very popular place as there was a line to order from the time we got there, until after we ate and left........but it is also during (day after) the Milton Hurricane in which MANY PLACES were...
Read moreI am lucky enough to live about a mile from this place. I have eaten here weekly for almost 2 years now (don’t judge me lol). I don’t know their names, but the staff is amazing and the banter is always on point. Their food is amazing and I have never been let down, not once in my weekly appearances for nearly the last two years. You can’t go wrong with the variety of tacos they offer. But the Tortas and quesabarilla are game changers. The owner is a very good and genuine dude. To see business pick up over the last year has really warmed my heart and is so well deserved. The two options of salsas do have a kick, but that’s right up my alley. If you like a spice kick, make sure to grab the spicy pickled onions they offer on the side as well! And I have only recently tried their beverages within the last couple of months, and when watermelon is in season and they have the watermelon juice beverage, man oh man. And the horchata is refreshing and always available. I don’t do reviews often, and I try to never “Karen” a place unless it’s absolutely necessary, but this place would get another star if it was an option. Go try it for yourself, they...
Read moreI have been eating here on a regular basis for over a year. I met the owner at Sam’s Club when he had a huge cart full of watermelon. I asked what he was going to do with all of that amazing fruit. He said agua Fresca at his food truck. I followed him over and I have been hooked ever since. My favs are everything! But if I had to pick my true addiction it is the quesabirria…loaded with extra cilantro, onion and lime. And then smothered with the pickled onions he leaves out as condiment. With roasted jalapeños for dessert. Seriously, I am hooked! Their agua frescas are freshly made, refreshing and he rotates fruit throughout the year. For take home I love the tamales. You can’t go wrong with any of the tacos but the pastor and lengua are our favorites. Sitting outside under canopies in a gravel parking lot between a gas station and a loud car wash with people from all walks of life is such GOOD memories of Mexico for us! The only downside is I cannot calorically afford to eat here more than...
