I would not recommend this place to anyone. Unfortunately it’s one of the few places of its kind in the area, however no one here wants to do anything other than play whatever game they are currently in the middle of.

Maybe the store is an okay place during the day but as soon as evening hits they are in no mood to help. They will tell you that it’s too close to close and then when you ask when they close they will literally tell you “whenever”. But somehow expect you to know when you can and can’t buy and sell things.

Everyone here is only interested in Magic the Gathering and if you don’t play it, good luck with anyone genuinely wanting to help you.

Also the prices for Pokémon items here are consistently higher than other local independent shops so check other places first.

I was staying in Lafayette for a week or so while my dog was getting surgery at Perdue Small Animal Hospital. On a whim, I decided to stop by the store after buying a MTG commander deck at a different location. I began talking to Spencer about cards and came across 3 fallout secret lair boxes. Being a massive fallout fan, and wanting to support local business, I decided to buy all 3 boxes. Spencer had informed me that there was a MTG event going on that night and that I should stick around to learn and play.

I did just that and had a fantastic time. The store was very clean and organized and very open which was a huge breath of fresh air. I can tell that the owners take great pride in their work and are proud of what they have there. The next time I am in town, I will definitely be making another stop there to give them some more business because they definitely deserve it...

I enjoyed coming here the first few times that I did. But, recently, I've been trying to avoid it because of the staff. I accidentally made a mistake on the cards I had picked out. (I had expected them to be around $1-$2 a piece at MOST.) Once the total came out way higher than I had ever anticipated, I had to retract my thoughts on buying the cards. After that, I was treated with hostility nearly. I understand where they were coming from about doing the work for nothing. But, having retail experience myself, I understand that people aren't always accurate on what they plan to spend. And that things could change. I always just feel generally uncomfortable in this store now. This incident was the tipping point for me though. I will only come here if I absolutely have to and I cannot find what I'm looking for...
