This is a 9 hole executive course that is easy to walk (about 5,500 steps or 2.8 miles, they do usually have ridable carts) and a pleasure to play. The surrounding mountains provide a beautiful view. The greens and fairways are in really good condition. The tee boxes can get a little worn and are sometimes closed for reseeding.
Early morning tee times in the winter months can be a bit chilly in the low 40s because the course is laid out in a canyon and follows Aliso Creek inland for 4 holes and then back towards the ocean for 5 holes. The sun pops up over the mountains around 8:30 or so.
My only complaint would be there is only complementary valet parking so you'll likely spend a few bucks on tips for a service I don't particularly value.
The pro shop is spacious and well stocked with friendly pros available to assist you. The walk up snack bar has a nice menu. Ordered coffee and an egg sandwich one morning and was very happy with both items.
The warm-up driving range is fenced in so you can't really get a feel for your ball's flight before teeing off. The putting green is large and...
ย ย ย Read moreBeautiful place my nephew got married here on July 18. My brother spent God knows how much for this weeding he covered it all. Beautiful fun. The only thing someone stole my one of kind Ray-Ban glasses which I'm so upset about I called the place many times no one answered the phone and I couldn't get a hold of anyone to find out if they got my sunglasses! I called once to the golf store and talk to a young man and he told me they have nothing to do with that part of the resort, but he was nice enough to check the lost and found! He suggested that I should call the front desk which I did several times and no one is answering their phone. I'm really shocked as how a club which such high standards and guest who spend millions of dollars at there place something like this could happen. I can't even find out if they have cameras so they can check to c who took my sunglasses.! In all my pictures my sunglasses are sitting on the table next to my purse as soon as I leave my table to go talk to my cousins at another table is when my sunglasses are gone ๐ข๐ข๐ข๐ข I'm taking 2 stars for not having...
ย ย ย Read moreA love lost. I play this course every time I'm in Southern California visiting our family condo (10-15 rounds a year), eat at their restaurant almost every time I play, and have even stayed at the resort. I've also recommended the course and restaurant to friends and family visiting the area.
So it was with great disappointment that I learned that they have doubled their green fees unless you purchase a $750 annual membership, making it $110 to play a slightly longer 9 hole executive course that is fun, but not great.
I get that this course is in a super affluent area and accessibility isn't likely a priority for them, but it's wild that they would make it an unattractive option for traveling golfers. The course never seems that busy, comparatively, especially mid-week.
If overbooking was occurring then there are plenty of ways to counteract that, that doesn't make the course a terrible value for anyone that doesn't live in the immediate area.
Hope they decide to revert back to sanity and make this a good value and fun place for both locals and traveling golfers...
