Review for Families! Beautiful Tide pools! Parking across the street ($2.50 and hour) pretty quickly obtained and then a 5 minute walk down wooden steps to get to the beach and pools. I will say, I think I enjoyed the tide pools at LA Jolla better. These pools were kind of hard to hike around, very jagged, rough terrain- we wore hiking boots for sure and I'm glad we did. They have guides around for answering questions, but mostly to enforce that you don't touch anything which I understand is better for the environment but was also a bummer. There are great public bathrooms and showers down the beach by the 'Lost Point' Cafe for rinsing off after beach play and a fun 'river' of sorts (pictured) near there that would be a calmer fun place for kids to play. Also, absolutely no fires allowed here. Unless you purchase a 'fire kit' at the Cafe ($100) and do it near there, and must be...
Read moreTreasure Island Beach is absolutely stunning. The sand is soft, clean, and the whole place feels like a hidden gem tucked away on the coast. The views are breathtaking, with crystal clear water that makes it the perfect spot to relax, sunbathe, or take in the beauty of the ocean. Everything about the beach feels well-kept and inviting, which makes it stand out compared to many other crowded or less maintained beaches.
That being said, the waves here are no joke they’re super choppy and can get rough fast. It’s definitely not the calmest water for a casual swim, so you need to be ready to handle strong surf. If you’re a confident swimmer, you’ll enjoy the challenge, but if not, it’s better to stay closer to the shore and just enjoy the scenery.
Overall, Treasure Island Beach is a gorgeous and clean spot that’s perfect for a beach day, but go prepared to respect the power...
Read moreThis is one of the most beautiful parks along all of the Southern California coastline. The blufftop walkway is beautifully landscaped, the wide ramps down to the beach make beach access very easy. The parking is somewhat limited, the two small lots onsite fill up fast, you can park on Coast Highway in the metered spots or for free if you go up into the neighborhood. Avoid the lower parking lot on the south end on busy weekends, you can get stuck in there for 10+ minutes only to find out there are no parking spots available. There are cold water showers for beach goers and one set of bathrooms in the park. There is a kid friendly beach with smaller waves at the west end of the park. This is a great place for a leisurely stroll, a beach day, a picnic or to watch the sunset. There some good dining options at the Montage Resort or across Coast Highway in the...
