Haven't even started attending with them and they already started off on the wrong foot. I am not from this area originally so I was told to get my transcripts. Fine. Easy enough .. except the Brazosport college had my transcripts from Dallas College for about a year, yet told me they couldn't find it. I gave them both my names still couldn't find it. So yesterday I drove 5 ½ hours to the Dallas College North Lake Campus in person to get my transcript. And drove back today at like 1am to get here early. Only to find out that Brazosport had my college transcripts the entire time, and now my physical copy is useless because before they checked it in their system they opened my official sealed transcript.... I'm beyond frustrated cause I spoke to 2 people in person to locate it over a year ago. I emailed 6 different people. I spoke on the phone about 4 times and still got nowhere. Only for them to tell me today they (Brazosport) had it. The ENTIRE TIME. Real freakin' nice. I'm frustrated. I spent a lot of time, and money to get the transcript that they apparently had.... Y'all gonna pay for the rental and gas? I doubt it. I did this as a last resort because I exhausted all my other options 3 times over. .... They had it the whole time... since August of 2024. Now I'm not sure if I'll be able to have time to attend at all... I'll be too busy making up the money I spent to get the stupid piece of paper in the first place. Financial aid said they wouldn't let me get financial aid until I had my transcripts from college... that's why I went on this giant goose chase in the first place to get help to attend school to stop working dead end jobs... I showed them the email That they said it was sent. I went in person and I had all my paperwork so how did no one realize they had my...
Read moreProfessor cancelled class w/o informing me, so the VA isn't going to give me BAH for two months, so now I can't afford to pay utilities for two months.
When that happened, I was left w/ 3 credit hours for this semester. I had to reach out to the professor about it. I asked him to put me in a replacement class, but he basically told me to kick rocks. By the time I realized I was screwed for two months, it was too late for me; I immediately went to my VA advisor/counselor to put me in something to get my credit hours up so I can receive BAH, but there was nothing available that falls under my Degree Plan (Cybersecurity.)
I realize that this is partly my fault for not going to the VA advisor sooner to find a replacement class, but when the Professor cancelled that class, a replacement class should have been IMMEDIATELY assigned.
I am now destitute for two months and cannot afford to pay my utility bills. This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth towards this College.
If you're a Veteran who's thinking about attending here and you would also be relying on BAH, PLEASE consider attending another college; the way this college has its semesters set up is extremely convoluted and confusing.
Besides that bad experience, everything else about this college is mostly pretty solid; all of my Professors and Faculty I've interacted with, have all been respectful, concise, and where necessary: lenient.
I wish their Cybersecurity Degree had their classes be in-person instead of online only; I am a hands-on learner, so it's hard for me to retain information that is...
Read moreMy two sons went to the school for their first time, very excited because of how beautiful the campus was and the online presence. However, when getting to the campus to complete registration and sign up for classes, they were met with several instances of unprofessionalism. They were told that documents they had uploaded were not able to be located, fafsa wasn't completed on the campuses end and they will need to make a payment plan out of pocket. Everything was completed on my sons' end, but they said it would take 4 weeks to process the pile of financial aid packets laying on their desk, so they would need to pay $370 out of pocket and make a payment plan to start classes. One son was aided and the other was dismissed several times due to what they feel were their appearances. They will not be attending this college and will attend elsewhere. These kids need guidance and not disrespect and unprofessionalism that makes them feel...
