Went in to look at guitars. The first day I went, the guy working the register was nice enough, but admitted he didn't know anything about the guitars they had (a pretty small selection). Luckily I already knew I was looking for a Breedlove and that they had them there. I did get to play a few of them and confirm that was what I wanted. I came back the following day with intent to purchase. A different guy was working who also knew nothing about guitars and that the guitar guy works on a different day... okay... Regardless of staff knowledge, I was so set on purchasing one of the guitars that I'd played and done my own independent research on that I said no problem, I'll get it anyway. The guy took quite a while to determine the price of the guitar (weirdly similar to the other guy) - it was as if they didn't realize this wall of guitars existed until that moment.

Right before purchasing I took one final look over of the guitar and ended up opening the battery compartment asking for a fresh battery. It was then that I noticed the battery had had completely corroded. We looked at two more guitars and both had the same battery corrosion.

The guy said he wasn't surprised as he had never seen anyone purchase a guitar since he started working there.

I know it's probably not easy for a small business like this to compete with the big box stores and online, but if you buy from here there's a good chance you are buying something that has severe damage so make sure you check it thoroughly beforehand.

Was looking forward to supporting a local business, but walked away disappointed by the experience and the state...

I am so glad I found this place. If you’re looking for quality lessons with friendly service and flexible scheduling, this is your place. I called multiple places to try to start piano lessons but they weren’t able to accommodate my schedule because they wanted me to be able to come in weekly. Im a nurse, so my schedule isn’t consistent and I told Tim, the owner, about my situation and he was so passionate and helpful about ensuring I get to learn piano! He worked with me and my schedule every month so I could come in bi weekly. Robert, my piano teacher is kind and very knowledgeable about music theory, he does a wonderful job adjusting the lesson to each individuals strengths and things they can work on, he’s been helping me learn the basics while also encouraging me to be creative. I am so happy I found this place and renewed my love...

I just visited Lake Music for the first time and had the most wonderful experience. Seth at the front desk is truly a fantastic person. I showed up at 4 o’clock on a Friday afternoon one hour before closing and he spent over an hour helping me with my violin tune he was very kind to my 12 year old who is super enthusiastic about all the different music in the store. He was a patient and thoughtful and really took time to help and guide us. He was professional and personable, and based solely on him, alone, it will be my go to store, forever!
