So, let’s see, where do I start? I stopped by Elephants Deli in Lake Oswego earlier this evening to pick up a sandwich and ? for dinner. I’ve never been to an Elephants but heard a few good things about them so I thought I’d give it a try. Wow, was I ever misinformed and disappointed. I was told they were out of the sandwich I initially wanted to order, I wondered how could they be out of deli meat? Well, I later find out that their sandwiches are all premade, and they sold out of the “premade” sandwiches. Apparently they aren’t freshly made as I so stupidly assumed was done at a “deli”. So… I ordered a pork, broccolini & mozzarella sandwich. After about 10 minutes, I noticed a small sandwich being pulled out of a deli cooler, and thought that this couldn’t be my sandwich, boy was I wrong. (this was when I came to the sudden realization that their sandwiches are premade). The sandwich was taken from the cooler and put it into a quick heat oven and then packaged (put back in some of the same paper wrapping from the deli cooler). Hoping this was going to be a phenomenal $14.50 sandwich. I took it and my sweet potato tots and headed home. En route I decided to munch on my marble sized sweet potato tots on the way home, apparently all 9 of them.😑 Getting home and examining my sandwich, I was less than thrilled. While I love fresh ciabatta bread, but this def wasn’t fresh. I could barely bite into it and chew it, it turned out to be what was basically pork flavored bread, broccolini stalks and unmelted mozzarella . Please refer to the accompanying pictures. So $17.50 for a small below subpar sandwich and 9 marble sized tots, (although “they/the tots” were ok) I’m definitely regretting my visit to Elephants. An Elephants I wish I...

I loved the Elephants when it was in Meadows. Friendly, great food, and stellar customer service. Since going to the new one these past couple of months (we only live here part time) I have noticed a huge difference. The staff does not seem to care about customer service, if they even know what it is. After the lady at the counter was not very nice to me a couple of weeks ago ( just was not helpful and kind of off putting) I decided to stay away for awhile. Today I decided to give it another try and went in to get my special drink, a chai latte. I was pleased to see a different young girl at the counter and ordered my chai. Then the other lady came out of nowhere to make it. I asked the young girl if she would please make it instead of the lady as I had had problems with her being nice to me in the past. Well, the young girl said, “are you serious? That’s rude of you!” Really??? I’m being rude?? I didn’t say that to her but I did say thank you and canceled my order. I definitely am not a rude person. I noticed above that you have stand up meetings. If she was my employee, I would have a stand up and walk her out. She should never tell a customer they are being rude. Especially when I only asked her nicely to make my drink. Then, let’s talk about my tuna melt. We were 14 of us on Mother’s Day. The service was non existent and the food was less than your normal. My tuna melt lacked cheese and very little tuna. I will say that you prepackaged food is excellent!! A bit expensive, but worth every penny. Good luck with customer service. I hope it improves and that I and my family will feel...

This has been one of my go to places in lake oswego. It's been a great casual place with reasonable prices.

However, I'm leaving a bad review because there was a problem with my online order a few weeks ago. I called and they said they would refund my money. That was great, but they never did. I've called and spoke to somebody about 4 other times over the past 3+ weeks and each time, they assure me they will refund and talk to the bookkeeper, etc, etc, etc.. And i wait a week and nothing ever appears as a refund. I'm not feeling very valued as a customer when they keep on telling me lie after lie after lie.

3/1/2025 Review Came here again for brunch. Ordered the french toast with blueberry compote. It came out with strawberry jam. I was annoyed they didn't even try to tell me until I asked them. To their credit, they did comp the dish for me, but I'd rather them tell me upfront and I would have ordered something else. And another annoyance is they did not use real maple syrup. What they gave me tasted like Aunt Jemima. Sigh... Food stars...

Bad small “hot” sandwhich. The “hot” sandwhich was not good, if you see the picture below, they barely heated it. The middle was completely cold and if you look at the cheddar it is slightly bending not melted and still cold in the middle…. The edges were barely warm. My boyfriend and I split a steak sandwich with chimicurui from the “hot sandwhich menu” (not sure the exact name but it had chedder , and chimichurri.) we asked them to split it and ordered a side of broccoli and garlic from the sides menu as well. The broccoli was a cold salad we thought it would have been hot as it was on the sides menu and most of the other sides were hot. It was ok tasting. Service was ok….. Bus and clean your own tables? Family’s where here they left a mess with there kids and I feel like we are now parents having to clean our own areas to eat…. Can I have the tip instead? We may return but we will see if they can re-heat pre-made food better… We live here in one of the greatest food city’s in the world… step up your game.

Food is meh. For the price you would expect to get high quality food for the food. I think it caters to the demographic around the area. Bland predictable flavors for people with deep pockets. Husband got a steak sandwich with 1-2 slices and a bunch of bread. Korean chicken sandwich was not very crispy and the Caesar salad had no flavor. The people who work there were nice though.
