SECOND UPDATE Went from four stars to one. This place is awful with their seating. Now it has been way too many times that I have had someone in our seats or have seen others have the same issue. Staff does not help. I am capable of sitting wherever but I often choose seats for a reason (my dad needed more leg room or wanted isle for ease of leaving for restroom break) and am sure I am not the only person picking the seats chosen for a REASON. Again, I have seen many rude people which is not the fault of the theater, however, staff needs to help this issue. It is reoccurring and seen almost every time we are there.
THIS IS ORIGINAL POST I do like how there are assigned seats, however they are outdated and some are worn and ratty. Most theaters have the nice recliner seats. The familiar faces that have been there for years are always friendly. The kids working are hit and miss depending on their day but I figure that’s just kids today. Only four stars because they need to update their seats. Popcorn is always great! Bathrooms are clean.
UPDATE TO ONE STAR
Went to see Sound of Freedom today and it was pretty full. Seats are assigned and this is the second time I’ve encountered people just sitting where they want. Last time, our seats were occupied and the people sitting in them told us there were plenty of seats to choose from. My bigger problem is today there was an older woman alone and someone was in her seat. She went to get help and after being gone A LONG TIME she came back and sat next to us saying she was told to just find an empty seat. If the theatre doesn’t help those who have chosen and paid for a seat then people are going to continue being entitled and sit wherever they want. Also, what happened to the days when there was an usher there to help people find their seats. Assigned seats means assigned seats. If I choose a seat and pay for it……..that should be my seat. I was just very disappointed in the staff and how they didn’t help this woman when after paying she didn’t have a place to sit. She had to move twice because after being told to find another empty seat….someone came to claim the seat she was in. Much prefer The Alamo and AMC. This is never an issue because there are staff making sure people find their...
Read moreHad a good time. We saw Dune. It was the longest movie EVER. The seating was comfortable until about 2 hours in. Then I think I started to become an actual part of the seat. When the movie finally ended I had difficulty separating because I had become dependent on it having my back for so long and I was scared. But I did it and we said our goodbyes. So, dont tell the seats in theater 3 but I prefer the lounger seating like they have in some other movie theaters like the one I went to in Springfield. I also liked the young people who take your concession orders while you sit in the comfy lounge chair watching the movie. It is like being the king of the theater. It's fun because I don't often have my very own person to fetch things for me for a whole (approx) 90 while minutes. (Longer for Dune) I'm usually doing the fetching for others. The Osage Beach cinemas should add something similar. That would be stellar. Anyway, the employees were friendly but a little bored looking. I get it. "Looking Bored" is mandatory in all standard teenage rules of conduct handbooks. It might even be a law. I know it is right up there on the top of the list alongside "disdain" and "angst". I recommend this venue if you want to see a movie that isn't nearly 3 hours long like Dune. If you decide to go watch dune I recommend bringing a sofa from home. Your butt...
Read moreThis theater needs a major upgrade and to get it together. Twice now I’ve gone and the popcorn is stale. Most recently, I wanted popcorn. The line took 45 minutes. I’ve never waited that long, it was ridiculous. And I kept thinking, oh I’m sure it will speed up. It didn’t. The person handling our line was also handling the online order pickups. Which honestly weren’t even what they should have been. None of those orders were even ready so it was treated like any of the other lines. My line didn’t get any attention. When I eventually got my small popcorn and soda, the ice machine was out of ice, and my popcorn was stale, as I mentioned. The movie had already started. The sound quality in the theater was not good, and everything was so dirty. They’re still operating with old theater seats, which are uncomfortable. At the end, I went to the ladies room, only to find signs on the sinks saying they’ve contacted a plumber, please use this hand sanitizer we’ve provided. Meaning, they had no water. In a post covid world, that’s just real gross. In a pre covid world it’s gross. Luckily one faucet had water. I used that one. I love the movies but you need to have a decent theater experience along with the actual film itself. This specific Marcus location needs to...
