Hope's Thrift Boutique — Local services in Lake Township

I bought a suit jacket , pair of jeans and a dress shirt today 4/13/2024. Mind you I’m a repeat customer and have spent lot of money there and support their small family business. I had asked if I can please have the hanger for the suit jacket and the gal who works there when she was ringing my purchase up said No.! I asked politely please I don’t want the jacket to wrinkle I have a wedding today to attend and want to look nice and don’t have time to take it to the cleaners to press it. And she still said no , they pay lot of money for their hangers! ?? I’m like really ?? One hanger is t gonna make you or break you. I also said I recommend your business to family and friends and they have shopped with you guys I’m just asking for one hanger and she says again No. if you want to pay $10 for it.?? I’m like ok , I understand now. I will not be supporting this business no more and I won’t be sending people there no more. She was rude about the way she handled this. God Bless. This is the world we live in today. We support and some people want more and more, that is business people like this . I mean one hanger I asked nicely for to keep the suit jacket I just bought hanging nice in my truck and not have it folded in a bag till I got home. I’ve bought other suits from second hand shops and they gladly keep them on a hanger for you and put plastic over it. Have a Great Weekend...

Let me start by saying this, this shop does NOT have fitting rooms! I shop here maybe once a year for jackets or shoes only. I used to buy here frequently years ago and immediately stopped when I realized some of the items I bought (Jeans,shirts,dresses etc.) Didn't fit me properly and was NOT able to return for store credit or try on before buying and I had a bag of un-used items from them because they didn't fit and couldn't do anything about it. I would spend hundreds with them every year. I suggested to them many times to build atleast 1 curtain fitting room in the back or front corner of the store so people can try on items and was told I was able to try on items on top of clothes. That wouldn't work because I am not going to get half naked in the store just to be able to figure out if something fits. I really wish they did something about that as I know that will probably grow their sales. I hope ONE day they listen to customer feedback and do something about adding a fitting room at least ONE lol for now I will give my money to other thrift stores that have a fitting room since once you buy you can't return and in this economy your hard earned money can be used...

This local thrift store is very underrated. It's a thrift store that you'd expect to find on the north side with its unique styles, but instead it is available here in the south! Their pricing is really fair, and I've been to some really expensive thrift stores around the city, and nothing compares to them.
