Montrose Harbor — Local services in Lake View Township

It would be improved if the bathrooms were open longer hours and not have to use the porto potties. But the harbor is nice for boaters. There is a lot of plastic garbage in the water this time of year but that comes with the popularity of the place on the weekends. Go on a weekday there is no parking on the weekend. I run it several times a week and it is a nice family area close to Montrose Beach. There are green spaces that are super nice and it’s close to the Bird Sanctuary. There are Purple Martin bird houses there worth seeing. It’s close to kayaking, volleyball...

Montrose Harbor is a fun place to go for the day. There are plenty of places to sit by the lake, take in the views of the beautiful downtown Chicago skyline and also walk around. Dock E is a great friendly place to dock your boat. All boat owners are your neighbors and always happy to lend a helping hand in bringing boats in from a sail.

Nighttime after 9pm can be a bit sketchy as it gets really rowdy outside the docks area with car radios blaring, drag racing, crowds etc…
