The course and grounds are very nice, good atmosphere with a Bradley's for drinks and food. However this review is one star, because I don't find it customary to be threatened by staff of an establishment I've paid to be at. We had what would typically be a misunderstanding of policy and should be handled professionally, however, the employee was rude, and very aggressive so much so that the valet got between him and us to defuse the situation.
THE MISUNDERSTANDING: We had a 2:48 tee time and payed for 18 holes. There were no signs, nor did the cashier advise us to have the cart back at 6:30pm. Apparently this is the policy. Most courses I've played at call for carts at sundown, but fine. This in total was the misunderstanding that could have very easily been handled without any problem.
THE RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE: We had a wonderful day EXCEPT for EVERY encounter with an employee name Mike who drove around the course on a cart during our play time. He approached us once and was very abrupt asking us to speed up because an entire hole ahead of us wasn't being played. We obliged only to get to the next tee to wait in line because there were a couple ahead of us waiting for a grandmother and her children to play ahead of them. (not sure where the empty hole was?)
The next encounter was at approximately 6:30 or so, Mike stopped by us on the green at the 17th hole and said and I quote " guys you need to wrap it up" ...so we obliged, with no problem assuming that wrap it up meant we could finish the 18th hole as we still had probably 45 minutes of light left when we thought we had to return the cart. As we were going to put on the green on the 18th hole, mike pulls up to us and in a very rude and aggressive fashion says "When i said wrap it up, what didn't you understand about that!?" so i responded very puzzled, and said we are wrapping up, its still daylight and we assumed we could finish our last hole. He then began to shout saying that they close at 6:30. so we told him we had no idea they close at 6:30, no one told us and we saw no signs posted that indicated such. He continued shouting, so at this point we told him he was being rude and unprofessional and he proceeded to get off of his cart in an aggressive manner and said " if you want to see rude, I'll show you rude". I could go on(because the shouting match and altercation continued) but that in itself sums up my complaint.
I've never been threatened or treated in such an disrespectful way at an establishment I've paid to be at (my group of 4 spent upwards of $225 in our afternoon there, between green fees, equipment purchased, food and drinks purchased at Bradleys) I will not be returning to Lake Worth Golf Course, which is unfortunate because we really enjoyed the course. I've attempted to call management to report the incident and have yet to be...
Read moreWow growing up here in Lake Worth as a Mexican man who plays golf I would have thought this was the place to play. I was shocked when my girlfriend an I got kicked off the course at our last hole (9th) after eating lunch at the beach club cause of rain. A ranger pulled up screaming at us saying that we were taking too long and they had gotten calls about us but we had just gotten done eating so there’s no way. He kicked us off the course, told us to pick up our balls and leave. The group behind us was more than happy to watch us play… there were no others on the course and somehow we had to stop our game and leave… I went in to complain to the clerk who cashed us out for the games originally and he was unbelievably rude and condescending. I even called back when I left to tell him what happened and he hung up on me (Bruce).. Long story short, only play here if you look the part.. it’s so sad to say but I know what the addenda is behind this course. There were “people” shooting 8 to 9 balls a hole per person and there wasn’t a problem. Stay away unless you look the part I guess. It’s sad to still see the discrimination these days. Bruce is one of the most unprofessional individuals I’ve ever came in contact with. I will be in contact with the City...
