Santa’s rocking lights in Grayslake, IL is horribly organized. This is our 3rd and last year coming (2022). The time our young children are forced to wait in line before we even get to see the lights is over an HOUR after we arrived at our scheduled time.

Each year the wait past our ticket time has gotten worse. But this year they added a pop up village which seems to have doubled the traffic which was already at a bursting point.

Our ticket was originally for 5:00, they then pushed it to 5:30 because they double booked a running event. We arrived at 5:25, and didn’t get to the ticket taker until 6:20 and finally started seeing the lights at 6:30.

In the end we just needed to get out as soon as possible as our kids were miserable being stuck in the car an hour longer than we all planned on.

Unfortunately must say over the years the quality of events is getting worse. I recently ran - and won 1st overall - the Spring marathon. Photographer didn’t think that accomplishment was worth capturing at the finish line, and it’s very disappointing.

Moreover, they’re doing everything possible to profit (increasing entry fees, cutting all possible costs). For example, each year the medals are getting smaller and lower quality - to the point where the 1st overall winning medal was literally printed on cheap label tape and slapped on the back of a generic medal (will add pictures).

For what you pay, this really isn’t worth it. There are far better races out there that have much better quality awards and swag and...

If I could give this company 0 stars, I absolutely would.

Last year the run they scheduled in Nebraska was canceled because of snow, which is fine, and we agreed to transfer to the following year Thanksgiving run. Then, the company, without asking for consent or agreement, changed the run to a day where no one I registered with can participate.

They are refusing to refund our money despite all of this being their fault. Do not trust them, do not give them your money. I have run their race before and the merch they give out is ill-fitting, poorly made,...
