Sellers beware: i called wood world at the recommendation of someone as opposed to FB marketplace. I paid $100 for them to pick up 7 items worth approx $1000, with an expecting of a little less than $500 back to me. sounded like a good deal right?
The owner called and told me they didn’t sell most of it so i could come pick it up myself (i’m disabled and own a honda which i discussed with him when he came to my house) or they could throw it away. he wouldn’t tell me the amount i was getting but that he’d drop the check in the mail “right now”. almost a month later a check for $60 arrived. i lost $40 instead of making $400 to $500.
i understand times are tough but this feels like theft. i have no idea if my furniture was sold and the cash pocketed. $1000 of furniture! and i have no idea why it took 3 weeks to send me a check for $60.
sadly there is nothing i can do about this but warn others: something smells fishy here and i feel taken advantage of. painful life lesson: just sell stuff...
Read moreProfessional, honest, great selection and delivery. I’m a senior and came in with my tape measure looking for specific sized dinette and desk. Eric helped me and I left with pictures and measurements, wanting to think it over. Two days later I decided to get those items but wanted to make sure they were still there. Spoke with Paul on the phone and he confirmed all items there. Paid over the phone with CC and set up delivery for following week. Matthew showed up right on time with his buddy and cheerfully put things where they belonged. One chair felt a little wobbly so he went back to truck, got his tools and fixed it! Did not leave til I was satisfied. So glad I decided to stop here. I had visited 6 antique/consignment stores and five new furniture stores and this was the only place that had everything I needed and with...
Read moreI'd give them a minus 25 if that were a choice. They take advantage of the elderly. They were moved an 85 year old man from his apartment to the assisted living in the same complex. They showed up 15 minutes late, moved his 6 pieces of furniture and then took 30 minutes to drive the 2 minutes from the independent side of the property to the assisted living. They went 15 minutes after the hour so they charged this 85 year old man an extra $200... this is after arriving 15 minutes late. I left multiple messages, was promised a call back, but Paul never called. He happened to answer the phone (finally) and refused to refund the $200 his company bilked out of an 85 year old man. A real classless act. Hope he reaps what he...
