Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Lakeland

This is by far my favorite Charley's cheese steak and wings in the whole world now for sure. The fiesta cheese steak and matching fries is my new favorite. And the crew is so well put together and they know what team work is and you can see that. I liked it so much I had to go back again Saturday and the lady working the drive thru was amazing she got my order correct and I didn't have to repeat myself 5 times she actually repeated the order to me and she was 110% on point with it. And the experience you get when you go thru there while she is working is one of a kind she laughs and jokes with you the whole time . She made me laugh and smile so much in just a few moments I forgot all about my bad day. So if you get the chance to meet her please be ready to laugh and be thrown away at her southern voice and southern language she still believes in saying honey darlin and dear and that is something alot of people forget how to say these days but she said darlin to me I about lost it (in a happy way) she said at the window most people don't say that kinda of stuff anymore because people now days take it in a offensive way but trust me when I say there is no disrespect in saying that kind of stuff be who you are and love every day . So please tell her I said thank you so much for making me see that not all fast food restaurants are the same and I'll be back to see her again soon I wish I would have gotten her name but I will make it a point to get it for my next review And please keep her around for a long time she is manager/owner material and again thank you to the whole team y'all are amazing keep up...

Famed for cheesteaks? That's a laugh. Thought I'd try this place as I'm sick of most other fast-ish food joints. Yuk. I orderd a small cheesesteak, nothing else. First of all, you do NOT put lettuce, tomato and pickle on a cheesesteak. Not proper. The beef was dry and tasteless and of the 3 bites I took I ran into gristle. I threw the majority out. Why does anyone think this is the correct way to put a cheesesteak together? Gross, dry and flavorless. I even tried to put pepperonchini juice on it (at home) to give it some oomph, didn't help. The atmosphere was really a downer with no enthusiasm. Only thing I did like was the bread. 8 bucks for bread is nutz. I'll try some other establishment for a cheese steak and drill them before I order one to make sure they know what they are doing. There's a reason the place isn't busy...it sucks. Just another FL joint...

Update! Second visit and the Old School Cheese steak is off the menu. They were heavily promoting a Bourbon something Cheese steak so I ordered it. They could not make it because they ran out of the needed sauce. Had an Original instead. I've had way better elswhere. Not worth going out of your way for. First time at Charley's stand-alone location in North Lakeland FL Plenty of seats. Simple menu. Mostly clean-ish in the dining area but could have been better. The cheesesteak was the star! I had a regular Old School Combo with Hot Pepper Relish, plain fries, and a medium fountain beverage. The Old School cheesesteak has extra steak, sauteed onions, and Cheese Whiz sauce. Really tasty. Really juicy and messy, too....
