Wouldn’t rent here again. Rented a carpet cleaner on a Saturday at 3pm decided to start the carpets in the morning when the kids were gone. We started at 9am and the agitator for the carpet cleaning machine doesn’t work, the two jets that spray under the machine only partially work (the left sprays fully the right barely sprays giving uneven spay ). This machine couldn’t lift many stains. After a few hours of trying to make sure it wasn’t operator error and pre treating the carpets to ensure the stains were given the best chance to lift out, I decided to look under the machine and determined that it wasn’t working (the scrubber brush) so it had no way of working stains out of the carpet or fitting any soil material out. Basic cleaning functions to any machine. It took me nearly an hour to get the company back to reply and they told me that even though it’s broken, I’d have to pay a partial days rental, and they were keeping my deposit. For a broken machine that isn’t working. I offered to show them pics and explained that I rented a machine that isn’t working /cleaning, in theory it shouldn’t have been rented out to anyone in the first place, so why am I paying even a partial fee. But that’s all they’d be willing to do. They looked at it in person and verified that was an issue and that it wasn't functional, and apologized but they refused to give me my money back in full.
They also charged me to clean the machine (this is an added fee that they charge on machines if returned dirty), they warned me about it at the time of rental, (if I returned the machine dirty). However, when I brought it back home to use, the first thing I had to do was clean it because they rented it to me filthy, in fact I had originally thought that perhaps this was why the two jets may have been clogged and not functional). Then they charged a fee upon returning it (after I cleaned it out thoroughly, since i had to show them that wasn't an issue with why it wasn't functioning). This felt like a total scam, since they don't seem to service or clean the equipment they rent out. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to rent a broken machine that I spent over an hour cleaning just to try and get it to work, only to have to drain it all back out and reclean the machine to take it back.
(Edit:) its been three years and they've never reached out to me (beyond their lame excuse for a "reply" here). This was just their way of trying to put some positive spin on a bad review.
Additionally, they knew about this issue before I ever left a review. They simply didn't care. I spoke to them about this "issue" both over the phone and in person and spoke with a manager, who confirmed the machine wasn't working. The consensus was basically, "tough luck, but youre not getting part of your rental back, oh and there's a cleaning charge for the rental, and its almost the entire cost of the deposit" which is frustrating as I spent the fuel and time to drive 15 miles to this place back and forth (two trips) and was out of pocket for a machine that didn't work. The only reason they can have this attitude is that they are one of the few equipment rental places in Kelseyville. My advice though is to go elsewhere, or make them run and test the equipment before you leave with any rental.
Also, if you are going to rent a carpet cleaner, just go to Safeway in Lakeport, the rental cost for the machine at Safeway (at that time) cost me less than I paid for just the deposit at the Lumber and Supply Co, and it was...
Read moreI’m including two reviews in this post. I have great things to say about Kelseyville Lumber’s window department, but wish I could say the same for their door department. I’ve ordered many windows from Craig who runs the window department and he’s on the ball and very easy to work with. He’s been knowledgeable, helpful in suggesting window options, sizes, and placement for my remodel and makes a point to really listen and answer questions. The door department: I ordered interior and exterior doors for my house from Eric who runs the department and is also sales manager. For my first order, things went ok. But when I wanted to order exterior doors, I experienced long delays in trying to get a call or email back from him. It took him two weeks to respond to basic questions and send me estimates; and I only got a response once I’d left him more than one message after patiently waiting several days. But my bigger complaint is the quality of the custom exterior doors I bought, especially since they were not cheap. One door they delivered was put together with obvious and careless mistakes—it was so bad it wasn’t even functional. Our very skilled and experienced carpenter who tried to install the door couldn’t believe how terrible it was. The door should never have left their shop if Eric or his staff had done a quality check before they delivered it. So, because of their mistakes, our remodel was held up while his department had to re-do a whole new door. The other exterior door I ordered came with a threshold seal that didn’t seal adequately, so my carpenter and I each left Eric messages asking for the problem to be remedied. In trying to keep the noticeable and significant amount of outside air from coming in under the door, I had to put a rolled up towel at its base. It took him a while to get back to me about the issue. And when he finally showed up, my carpenter, husband, and I pointed out the visible gap across the entire bottom of the door. He was unmistakably annoyed that he needed to come deal with it (he ultimately put a metal piece under the door to help reduce the draft). His attitude with all three of us made it clear he thought we were making an issue about the door even though it was a legitimate problem. In summary, the lacking quality and customer service are the reasons we won’t be ordering more...
Read moreI walked into Kelseyville Lumber today and went straight back to the window and door department to get another order of screen channels.
Bruce sat in his chair behind a computer as I asked about getting more material from him cause he sold it to me last time. He said he was busy being on the computer and had no time for me to help me.
Well he then got very rude and snaughty with me and in front of two woman who where shopping so bad that I told him this is how you treat your clients? The two woman over heard wanted my cards and I told them I have them up on the community board. They where shocked in his attitude.
I went to the front counter and asked for the manager in charge. She asked what was it about and I said the Bruce your guy back there in the window department is very rude and this is not the first time this has happened to me. Cashier rolled her eyes and said again.
She told me where the manager was and I explained everything to the manager and the manager rolled. Manager also told me he has had multiple complaints about this Bruce. He asked if I wanted to talk with the owner of Kelseyville Lumber and I said sure.
When we got back to the office Bruce just came out of the door talking to the owner and had a stack of our business cards from the community board and ripped em in half and then handed them to me with a smerk saying your not welcome here and this was right in from of the manager.
Bruce has horrible customer service skills. He should not be working there and it is a bad reflection on this company.
Who the heck runs this Kelseyville Lumber? The window and door department????
Cause next thing that happens is the owner did not want to talk.
I WANT AN APPOLOGY FROM THIS BRUCE IN WINDOW AND DOOR SECTION OF KELSEYVILLE LUMBER!!!!!!!!!
