0/10 – DO NOT ATTEND Lakeway Arbor Terrace – My Experience as a Son and Advocate If there were an option to give zero stars, I would. My father’s time at Lakeway Arbor Terrace has been defined by neglect, obstruction, and the complete reversal of progress I personally helped him achieve over years of dedicated care. Communication: they don't communicate. Repeated requests for medical records were ignored or outright refused. Phone calls go unanswered, voicemails remain full for days or weeks, and staff show no urgency in ensuring residents can stay connected to their loved ones. When I tried to follow up directly, I was met with dismissive attitudes and surveillance rather than cooperation. Care Quality: My father’s health has declined significantly under their supervision. Physical therapy has been discouraged, with staff even referring to talking about exercise as a “microaggression.” Instead of encouraging mobility and independence, their approach promotes immobility, dependency, and overmedication—specifically synthetic opioids and depression medications that, in his case, have no proven long-term benefit. Ethics & Transparency: Promises made regarding access to health records and open communication have not been honored. There’s an observable culture of control, secrecy, and fatalistic attitudes about residents’ recovery. In my father’s case, this has meant the deliberate undoing of real rehabilitation gains for reasons that remain unclear but appear to serve the convenience of management, not the well-being of the resident. Overall: Lakeway Arbor Terrace has shown me, time and again, that they are unwilling—or unable—to provide dignified, restorative care for those entrusted to them. If you value transparency, communication, and genuine rehabilitation for your loved one, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Rating: 0 out of 10 – Do Not Attend.

I recently attended a cognitive care training led by Lori, the Memory Care Director at Arbor Terrace, and it was truly outstanding. Her expertise, passion, and ability to explain complex concepts in a way that’s both engaging and easy to understand made the session incredibly valuable. I walked away with practical tools, deeper insight, and a renewed appreciation for quality dementia care. Lori’s dedication to improving the lives of residents and supporting caregivers is inspiring. Highly recommend!

My mother was a resident at the Bridges Community for four months before her recent passing, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care she received. The staff at Arbor Terrace is, without a doubt, the most compassionate and dedicated group I have ever encountered in any healthcare or caregiving setting. From the start, the caregivers went above and beyond—not just for my mother but for our entire family. Many even shared their personal phone numbers with me, offering updates and reassurance about how Mom was doing. When my mother passed away, the staff’s genuine care was profoundly evident. One gesture that stands out to me came from Rogelio, a young caregiver, who brought roses for my mother during her final days. His kindness and thoughtfulness were an example of the level of care and compassion that Arbor Terrace gave my Mom daily. The administrative staff was equally exceptional. Penny, the head of Arbor, was always available and willing to help. When I encountered an issue with the bathroom not being cleaned, she personally came to the room and ensured it was addressed immediately. It never became an issue again. Lori, the head of staff, maintained open communication with me, always making sure our needs were met and providing invaluable support. The maintenance team, especially Rich, also deserves special recognition. He consistently went above and beyond to help us, whether it was mounting items, taking things to the dumpster, or offering a friendly hand with any request. His warm and helpful attitude made every interaction a pleasure. One of the standout aspects of the Bridges Community is the incredible stability of their staff. Unlike other facilities where high turnover disrupts continuity of care, Bridges has a dedicated team that clearly loves their work. Throughout our time there, we saw the same familiar faces—a comfort not only to us but also to the residents. The staff genuinely looks out for the residents, fostering a warm and caring environment where everyone feels seen and valued. A special mention goes to Belinda, one of the kindest caregivers I've met. She always took the time to bring my mother her favorite cup of coffee and made sure she was comfortable, setting her up in a recliner to watch movies. Belinda’s thoughtful attention to my mom’s comfort showed the true heart of the Bridges Community. I would also like to acknowledge the lovely ladies at the front desk. They were always so sweet and welcoming, making every visit a little brighter. I will especially miss their smiling faces that greeted us each time we arrived. Their warmth and kindness were felt every single day. The Bridges Community also offers a well-thought-out array of activities for residents with memory challenges, including bingo, movies, trivia, and crafts. While my mother couldn’t participate in many of these due to her disabilities, she truly enjoyed the sense of community. Unlike other facilities where residents may remain isolated in their rooms, Bridges fosters a warm, communal atmosphere where residents spend time together, creating a supportive and social environment. The building itself is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated that the memory care section wasn’t hidden behind obvious locked doors or labeled as a "neighborhood," as I’ve seen in other places. My mom had previously been in a fancier, more expensive facility nearby with that kind of setup, and she resisted going behind the locked doors. At Bridges, she didn’t even notice—everything just felt like another welcoming hallway. This subtle design choice helped her feel more at ease, preserving her dignity and comfort. I wholeheartedly recommend the Bridges Community at Arbor Terrace to anyone seeking compassionate and comprehensive memory care for their loved one. Knowing my mother was surrounded by such love, dignity, and kindness in her final months is a comfort I will...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Arbor Terrace in Lakeway, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this senior living community. While I haven't lived there personally, my tour and interactions with the staff left me with no doubt that this is an exceptional place for seniors. As a local real estate agent, I help many of my clients as they downsize and I am thrilled to have found Arbor Terrace.

First and foremost, the staff at Arbor Terrace is truly outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and valued. The team here is not only highly professional but also incredibly warm and compassionate. They take the time to get to know each resident and their families, creating a genuine sense of community and care. It's evident that they are deeply committed to the well-being and happiness of the residents.

The dining experience at Arbor Terrace is something to rave about. The food is not your typical "senior living" fare; it's restaurant-quality cuisine that's both delicious and nutritious. The culinary team deserves special recognition for their creativity and attention to detail. They cater to various dietary needs and preferences, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a satisfying meal.

What truly sets Arbor Terrace apart is their wide range of programs and activities for residents at all levels of care. They have tailored programs to meet individual needs. It's remarkable to see how they promote engagement, socialization, and overall well-being among their residents. The diverse activities and events they offer ensure that there's something for everyone to enjoy.

During my visit, I had the chance to witness the strong sense of community and camaraderie among the residents. The staff goes above and beyond to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where residents can thrive and make meaningful connections.

Arbor Terrace in Lakeway is an exceptional senior living community that clearly prioritizes the comfort, happiness, and overall quality of life of its residents. If you're looking for a place that combines exceptional staff, gourmet dining, and an array of enriching programs, Arbor Terrace is definitely worth considering. While I may not have lived there personally, my visit left me with a profound impression of the care and dedication that define this...

My mom has lived in Arbor Terrace Lakeway since Feb, 2024. I wanted to wait several months before submitting a review to see how my mom settled in. My mom is currently living in the Assisted Living side, but due to the progression of her dementia and mobility issues, we are going to move her over to the Bridges Memory care side.

I cannot say enough good things about the director, Penny Reider and the staff. They are all compassionate and professional about their jobs. Teresa and Alex were wonderful helping get my mom settled when she first arrived. Dana and Stacey work very hard to have lots of fun events, exercise, movies, and games for the residents in Assisted Living. We love the front desk workers, Mel, Penne, Kathy, and Daya because they are so helpful with any questions and really try to get answers. My mother loves all the aides and med techs. They are wonderful - too many to name. I also have a camera in my mom's room and the couple times I watched the staff were very kind and helpful with her. They really care!! That is one of the differences with Arbor Terrace, the amount of good staff and aides they have to help the residences is more than most other facilities we have visited or heard about.

The maintenance director, Rich, is amazing and really gets things done. The cleaning crew are great and the facilities are very clean.

My mom loves the food and we ate there for a couple of special events. The mother's day meal was fabulous and the staff made us feel like we were in a fancy restaurant. Tim the chef is amazing and his staff are the best!

Most of the other residents really enjoy being there which makes my mom feel like she surrounding by good people. Penny came up with a plan to have my mom transition to the memory care side during the day to meet other residents and feel comfortable before moving her room there. Donna and Andrea make it real fun and engaging on the memory care side for the residents. My mom said she doesn't mind going over to memory care, which is huge.

Once a month, Lori (director of memory care) and Penny hold a support group for family members of residents with memory issues. I find this support group really helpful to learn more about how I can better...
