Asia Food Supermarket — Local services in Lancaster

I like coming here. But their dates and ready-to-eat foods near the checkout is really getting on my nerves. I let it go a couple of times, but this time, it was bad. My sister bought me a bonbao(sorry I don't know what the correct term is in English or vietnamese as we call it something else), but the meat pastry that is ready to eat near the checkout. I usually look at the items before purchasing just incase it's bad. This time my younger sister went herself and bought me one, as I love those things but am too lazy to make it. lol I heat it up a tad bit, opened the wrapper(which wasn't the original wrapper that comes with it-the one from the seller) and the top had a small spot that i figured it was mold. I took it off as it was so small and i gave it the benefit of the doubt. I go to bite it and it gave an off smell(one of those you KNOW the food is bad). I opened it and just imagine any liquid in it that was stretchy. Enough is enough. I'm Asian myself and like to go here for some of our foods, but this is pushing me to my limits of wanting to go here anymore. Please don't put bad things out! I really like Viet My!

Update 02.10.2025- bumping it up to 5 stars. The new owners are doing an awesome job with the store. They've put in a scanning system for the items now instead of typing in the price. Seems like everything has a barcode. Set up in the store is still the same, so there are still to-go foods near the register. I haven't bought those food items for a while. So I'm unsure of the quality like my old review's situation. Keep up the good...

Great selection but...check your receipt and and keep an eye on the cashier during checkout! They don't have pricing on many items so you have no idea how much they are. You'll have to ask but they they give out different prices for different people. I know because my friend and I pay different prices on the same item. They purposely don't list out what is on the receipt so if you buy a lot, you will have a hard time figuring how much each item cost. You can't see what is being charged during check out because they have the screen turning in the direction that has the light reflection. It is really hard to see. The cashier will punch really fast so sometimes she punches in more qty than what you buy. She'd apologize if you call her out but she somehow never make the mistake of charging you less. Go for what you need but only buy 5...

Very bad customer service. Disgusting attitude! I’m a regular customer here and yesterday we spend $150 on groceries. Bought 3 bread each 3.99. Tried 1 and it already went bad. Came to ask for return and the owner only refund 2 because he said I already tried the other one??? How do I know if it already turn bad or not if I didnt try it??? Are you trying to sell the other 2 that went bad to the next customer? Shouldnt you throw all 3 away??? The bread was clearly smell like mold. Called the police because I cannot stand his attitude. This is not how you do business!!! Do not go here unless you want rotten food.
