Attn: Jesus, Manager I would like to begin with this is the first time I’ve had a bad experience with Gran Sabor. On Saturday, 9/3 b/t 1-1:30pm I came in to purchase some of your amazingly delicious food! Upon entering your restaurant I was the third person in line while 6 to 8 of your employees stood around (behind the salad/dessert counter) chatting and laughing. Granted, I was very happy they were in a great mood and enjoying themselves. However, sadly I waited 3 to 6 minutes before anyone made any eye contact with me or offered to assist me. Finally, Pearla walked over and reluctantly offered to help. I told her what I wanted, and mIstakenly asked if she “had” any pork instead of asking for pork. She sarcastically pointed to the pork w/ attitude and said “it’s right there”, like “duh, it’s in front of your face!” I still had four additional items I wanted to purchase and in the middle of my transaction, Pearla looked at me and said “she will help you” and walk away. “She”, was Anna. Anna finished helping me but not before she and Pearla continued to communicate in Spanish while laughing. Needless to say, the food was amazing as always, that’s truly the only reason you got two stars, but the experience was absolutely horrible! It used to be there was only one or two (if we were lucky) good at Spanish restaurants in the area, that’s no longer the case. Now is not the time to let your guard on how important customer services is to give a complete positive experience. Your food will only take you so far. Lastly, I would like to share that I too am Hispanic. So while they thought they were being funny making comments in Spanish, I knew exactly what they were talking about. Just because I chose to place my order in English doesn’t mean that I can’t understand and speak the language. Needless to say, I was highly...
Read moreAfter waiting 30 minuets for my food I got to the lady who managed to complete my order, after giving me friendly service I couldn't help but look at this beautiful meal they have bestowed upon me. The smell was so lustfully entrancing I just had to stop, open the styrofoam container and waft that wonderful Latin smell of yellow rice with pork and steak. To my dismay I only was given pork but with the food smelling so beautiful I couldn't return her to her home.
Getting halfway down the block my stomach was in a knot. I couldn't hold it anymore. The food; grabbing my nose and abusing it in every wrong way possible just made me regret not eating it inside that renovated building. I ripped open the container and was careless at the fact that they didn't give me a fork or a spoon. I stuck my hand into the rice and ate it mouth full at a time. When my desires were satisfied I went to put that container back in the bag and I noticed the spoon and fork were at the bottom of the bag hiding under their perfectly cut napkins. I licked my fingers, picked the bag up and walked home.

Read moreI ordered takeout about an hour before I got there. It didn't annoy me, but they did not have my order packed when I arrived.
Packing my food up didn't take long and the service was perfectly fine. The food, on the other hand, seemed to have sat under a warmer all day. It was warm, dried out, and not particularly tasty. I ordered three different empanadas (beef and cheese, chicken, and seafood). The beef and cheese was fairly salty but otherwise bland and tasted like they used cheap processed sheesh like Velvita or American. The chicken was tomatoey and very strange. The seafood was pretty bland and all the meat was chewy. I also ordered a potato ball. This was decidedly unpleasant to the point that I only downed one bite. It's hard to describe what the potato ball was like because I ate only one bite and tried to forget it ASAP.
I am not sure to whom I would recommend this restaurant. Perhaps their other food is superb. My one experience was not good. Perhaps if you went when the empanadas were fresh, they'd be good. Mine were not good. Maybe if you go expecting little, you would be happy. The prices...
