Just sharing some info for anyone that may have an account(s) with Truist that may only have deposit activity but no withdrawal activity to save them from the headache I have encountered. Despite having incoming activity (deposits), Truist will put your account in a dormant status after 12 months (to the date) if no withdrawal (outgoing activity) was made and they will not tell you they are doing so. Therefore, if you decide to pay something out of that account and have it drafted, despite the money being there and the incoming deposit activity, they will return that debit (check or ACH) as ACCOUNT CLOSED. You also will not be able to use the ATM to withdrawal the money either. Oh...wait, my favorite part, the branch manager will call as a courtesy check-in to talk about the new ATM a month or so before the account goes dormant and, despite telling her that you don't use the account very often, she will not think to give you a heads up about their 12 month dormant status rule. Oops, dang it, I can't use that new ATM! I should also mention that you will NOT get any notification whatsoever about your account going dormant. No paper notification. No email notification. Nothing. None. You can still access the account via the mobile app everyday and there is nothing that states your account is dormant - not even on the monthly bank statements. It is hidden only for Truist employees to see. 👀I hope this information helps someone before you too, lose all patience with their favorite line: "you were given the service agreement that provided that information when you opened the account and when the bank became Truist". Look, I am sure all banks do this but the fact that they keep it a complete secret after they've marked your account dormant is really poor customer service. I know that Grow Financial will give you a heads up about your account possibly going dormant a few months ahead of time - they don't keep it a secret. I mean, they will kick you out of your online banking so you for sure know something is up - Way to go Grow Financial! In any case, if you still elect to go with Truist for your banking needs, make sure to bring your reading glasses, something to drink and/or munch on, so you can sit in the branch managers office and read the font size 8 typed, 38-page service agreement so you will know all the ins and outs of their banking practices before opening that account, otherwise... sshhhh it's...
Read moreNo concept of customer service and treating you like a human. I was declined two charges from my apartment complex that came back payment returned due to account being "closed." Mind you this is on my primary account that has sufficient funds. I call customer service and they transfer me to three different people. I was on hold for over an hour. I decide to go into the local branch to meet with someone to explain to them what was going on and she basically gives me the same number to call and says she can't do anything about it. She said my account looks open and that she didn't see any problems even when I showed her the rejection message. I feel like there's something IT/transition related going on in the background that caused this error and that is causing me to incur late fees that are not my fault and they won't make an effort to fix it. Absolutely no care or concern at all from their end. I've never had issues with SunTrust for years, but now with the switch I will be leaving Truist. They...
Read moreI have personally banked with another bank for 20 years and came across a couple of SunTrust programs while managing the finances of my Spearfishing team here in Florida (they bank through SunTrust and I'm the Treasurer.) I was thankful to meet with Lisa Francis who was nothing short of amazing: Her personality, her knowledge and experience - a true expert at creating relationships through trust, credibility, and rapport. She helped me secure the best-case scenario in obtaining the finances I needed, and even made calls to clarify things directly to the bank. Lisa will be my first stop when I decide to refinance my home next year. I travel the country facilitating classes in creating customer experiences, sales performance, and other development classes. If you're looking for a financial solution, and you're looking for a partner to help you through all of the options, then look no further than Lisa at the Land O' Lakes...
