This was a great experience overall! We did the guided tour at Chass River to the "Crack" to see the tunnels and a more immersive experience. It was so much fun to go through the mangroves and we even saw a manatee! Our tour guide showed us how to swim under the short tunnel and that was cool. The "crack" unfortunately was swampy due to the hurricane but the landscapes were beautiful and so worth the trip. I would like to suggest a few things that would have made the experience even better. Our tour guide was a young teen and did not give us a safety briefing, summary of what we are doing or where we are going, or anything beforehand. He seemed to go with the flow and at times during some of our stops, was more interested in showing the other teens around us the tunnels instead of paying attention to our group. Oftentimes, it felt like we had to look around for him. He also forgot his fin for his paddleboard so it was a lot of us waiting for him to catch up which made us keep yelling over to him to ask where we are going. Also, it would be nice to hear more about the history, the area, and maybe even the birds/plants and interesting facts (we asked some questions and he did not know any information). The tourguide in training with us was great in that he took pics of us and was very energetic. The only thing is that he used a lot of profanity, kept saying he had no idea where we were going, and even sometimes said things like "this water looks like it came from the sewer". Obviously not lovely things you want to hear on a tour. Overall, they were young kids working hard so I know no one is perfect but just some improvements to make it an even better experience for the good amount of money we paid. Great trip, loved the area and would definitely...
Read moreHaving been to Florida MANY times and enjoyed the beaches immensely, it was hard to deviate from “the regular” and break out of our shell to try something new. It’s a difficult plunge to spend time and money away from the white sand that we know and love. But, after coming HIGHLY recommended by a family member, we were urged to kayak the Weeki Wachee with Chad from Chadillac Adventures. Right when we entered the State Park, I knew we were in for a special experience. The surroundings feel like a beautiful jungle/rainforest. Launching was a breeze as Chad had all of our kayaks and paddle boards packed, riverside, and ready to go! I had zero worries about my safety, and the planning a preparation was truly professional. Chad knew all of the best places to rest, play, and see the sights! The wildlife was abundant and Chad, of course, knew the name of every bird, and the locations to see turtles, manatees, and more! Our 6 mile adventure took around 4 hours and honestly, I was heartbroken when it was over. For many out of state visitors, as was for me, the beaches are the number one draw to Florida. However, after this kayaking experience on the beautiful, fresh water springs, I have a new “go-to”! I cannot wait for my next Chadillac Adventure, and next time I’m...
Read moreI recently went kayaking with Chadillac Adventures and it was a quite enjoyable experience. A significant part of this was due to Chad's assistance. He was easy to work with and efficiently set us up with our kayaks, making the start of our trip smooth.
The kayaking spot itself is a nice find in Tampa Bay, offering a peaceful setting that feels somewhat undiscovered. During our time on the water, which was just a couple of hours, we were pleasantly surprised to encounter dolphins, rays, and various other wildlife. It added a special touch to our kayaking adventure.
The kayaks provided were in good condition, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience. It's clear that safety and quality are considered important here.
Overall, I would recommend this place for a relaxed kayaking trip in one of Tampa Bays estuaries . Chad's helpful service definitely adds to the positive experience. It's a good spot for those looking to enjoy some time on the water and maybe spot some local wildlife. An additional plus is the waterfront bar where you can enjoy a drink after...
