A pretty disappointing fishing charter for $600. Booked the trip with Captain Logan stating that we wanted to catch Snook and Red fish. He didn't tell us that snook were out of season until we were already out on the water, adding that catching a redfish would be rare. So now we are locked in for a full day of fishing but the snook are out of season and finding redfish is going to be "rare". The wind was heavy that day which made it difficult to stay on the fish beds (his words). We felt like we should have been told before heading out that the weather was really going to affect the fishing so that we could have the option to cancel. Captain Logan is one of the premier inshore fishing guides in the area. I have had the pleasure of fishing with him many times and he never disappoints. Regardless of the weather conditions or what is going on with the fish he will put together a trip like few captains can. It’s great to fish with a captain that has a true passion and does not specialize in just a few species of fish but literally every type of fish swimming in Tampa bay waters. I have some incredible trips catching snook and redfish all day long, have sight fished for some big Cobia, and went “meat fishing” for trout and mangrove snapper with captain Logan. What a great day, had a spur of the moment idea to do some fishing after a business trip cancelled at the last minute. As a guide he was professional, knew where to find the fish and had a great boat. Fishing with him was like fishing with your old buddy, which is something that not a lot of guides can do and is a special gift. We had lots of strikes but the client (me) could not set the hook, unlike some captains he shrugged it off and said get’m next time.
