I didn't know why Google doesn't have a mechanism to update reviews, but I guess they don't expect patrons to visit places more than once. This review is more about our customer service experience. We came in for a runner rug and get ideas for the house. We asked for Dedra as she was so helpful when we got our sofa, but was told she was in Sarasota at her permanent store. As a result, the lovely Carol was made to listen to me ponder as to why the 80s mirrored look and asylum frame bed were popular everywhere again. We were able to find a runner rug fairly quickly and at $99, happy with the price. Carol also helped us with identifying and saving on our account some other pieces we may revisit. On our way to write everything up, a throw pillow waylaid us. It had something about it that drew the eye and we both immediately thought it would look perfect with the new rug & ottoman (See Plant City location review) along with the sofa (the Alpha Beige from this location). Carol looks it up on her tablet and they're $40 per pillow. I don't know when something that begins with the word "throw" became so expensive, but I was surprised. My surprise quickly became rationalization as to why it's ok to spend $40 per throw pillow. We ordered two even though three would look better on the sectional because again, they were $40 throw pillows. We were told we could use the free delivery or pick up the items in Plant City. I'm ashamed that I'm not ashamed that my desire not to deal with I-4 overrode my environmental concerns about a delivery truck bringing a hallway runner rug and two throw pillows to me. Delivery day rolls around and I lost it laughing when THREE delivery dudes get out of the truck, each carrying one of my items đ. I'm sure logistically it makes sense because they're doing big deliveries along with mine, but it's still ridiculous to see. I applaud those three men for going the full distance in each of them carrying an item, no one could say any of you weren't fully doing your job. Then I see the pillows are just the covers. I ask where the insides were and the delivery guys tell me the order is just for covers. I'm like no no, no one buys $40 throw pillows, right? They were SUPER nice and said I should call the store if it's not what I was expecting. After they left, I looked and my order did say it was only covers. I look up the pillow on the site and it says $40 with the inserts. I email Carol because this is not what I expected. At this point I'm in a full on pillow emotional fever. I'm shopping the price of pillow inserts online because while part of me wants to take them back, the fabric did look REALLY good with everything. I keep going back to the City product page to see what I've missed. Then I realize I pulled up the 20". A 24" is $60 WITH the pillow part, $40 for cover alone. I didn't know if Carol maybe made the same error in the store or what but I was determined to take these covers back. Because we made purchases at two different stores close together I had multiple surveys in my inbox. I filed out both during my pillow rage. I got a call from customer service within 24 hours (so lovely and friendly) and then Carol reached out and apologized for the confusion as she had given me the price for the wrong item. I don't remember at this point if I was going to still return them, or listen to the fiance and just get pillow forms for them, but Carol told me she was going to "make it right" and to come pick up the inserts. I was shocked. It was not at all expected or necessary, particularly as I picked them up and they were of a much floofier nature then I was going to end up getting on my own. And darn it if they don't look amazing. But a third is needed to balance things out, and we're almost certainly going to order one so I guess I'm a $60 throw pillow person now đ

   Read moreIn all fairness I have had a good experience with City Furniture prior to this one. With that said this has been a horrible situation from the beginning. We purchased a sectional and coffee table. We lost all our furniture we had previously bought here due to hurricane Helene. The salesman contacted us the day before delivery to say we needed to verify our delivery by responding to the email sent. We never got the email which is crazy because when in the store we made sure the email was correct on their tablet. I called customer service to correct it which was a painful experience, I had to give a new address because they couldnât get it correct. The day of delivery we received a call from the delivery driver who stated the salesman didnât say what base for our table but if we could get ahold of him heâd put it on the truck. This was 8am the store wasnât open so they took it off the delivery. We were told to contact a manager at the store to have the table refunded and rescheduled to be delivered. We called and were told managers were in a meeting but the message would be forwarded and weâd receive a call. Never got a call. We got a hold of the salesman who now informed us our table was out of stock until may (we picked the table to go with the furniture specifically and were told we could refuse the delivery if it didnât look right and now we had a sectional but no table). I went online and was able to purchase the table that was supposed to be out of stock but had to drive over an hour each way to Plant City and pick it up. Fast forward several weeks, no refund for the first table, no call from a manager I go into the store and a salesman goes to the manager with the situation. She had no idea I was in the other side of the wall and could hear their conversation. She sounded annoyed by the situation and rude about it, said she called us (she did not). I came around the wall, asked her to pull up the account (I have no receipts for the transaction because they had the wrong email), she sees we have never been refunded and does so at that time. To make matters worse the sectional does not stay together (it reclines on both sides and comes apart ). Iâm over it at this point, contact customer service, send pictures, explain this mess whole mess and the representative tells me the salesperson would be contacted about a refund, we should see it it 2 days and the furniture would be picked up within 5 days. I called customer service the next day to follow up that the pictures were received and now get transferred to the warranty department. They tell me it has to be fixed. I respond with I want nothing to do with City furniture anymore come get it. Now I get transferred to a âsuperiorâ who Iâm warned will tell me the same things. I get the superior who tells me the same but did offer to swap the furniture with a different set all together. If we didnât have so many other problems with customer service Iâd probably be fine with that but at this point I want nothing to do with City Furniture at all including a new set. As a side note my sister purchased a bed which is to be delivered today and guess what, they have the wrong contact information for her (she verified it in the store) and now she has no idea if or when itâs coming. What a disappointment. We really loved the store and the selection. Our first salesman was amazing, the delivery drivers were great and professional but this situation and their robotic responses have been a huge turn off and I could never recommend them to...
   Read moreMy journey started with City Furniture on January 13, 2025. I purchased a table from them when it was delivered It was missing major parts to complete set up of table. I contact them to inform them of the missing parts. They scheduled a delivery for a new table to be delivered and set up. The timeframe they gave me was 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM 4:29 PM came. I waited took off from work all day only for them to text me telling me that they were in route and will make it to me in 45 min, I then let them know I could not stay at home any longer that was very unprofessional. No one gave me a call to let me know that he was running late! They scheduled a second delivery, Same time 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM once again I called 5:29pm to find out where the drivers was, I was told they were in route , and they were running behind and that someone will be to me in 45 minutes, I told them I wasnât able to stay home any longer again! another work day missed! I told them that I want a refund. I requested a refund and I want them to pick the table up, I no longer want the table. They said I Wouldnât get a refund and that I would need to look at their policy thatâs listed on their website I stated to them I did not purchase from your website so thereâs nothing that I wouldâve saw to tell me I get no refund for an item that I no longer want due to all the mishaps they have done with this order, I came into the store and have a receipt that did not say anything of such , And if I didnât get my refund, I would contact My Atty. They schedule a date to come pick the table up from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, 4:30 PM came nobody showed up. I called them again and the driver told me that they were in route and they will be to me no later than 30 minutes then he called me back and said he made a mistake, It would be 45 minutes. I told him that was unacceptable but OK. I then got a call from the delivery team telling me that The delivery driver canceled my pick up and I asked them why and How is it that the delivery pick up guy canceled my pick up without telling me a reason for doing so as well as I didnât know that they could just make that decision at the last minute same day of pick up. you canât make me keep an item that I had these problems with and I no longer want after all the missed pick ups delivery times wasting my time! Not once did they offer any gift card or anything besides an apology, which was very much unacceptable! Iâve never experienced such unprofessionalism from any major companies like this ever! I would never do business with them ever again theyâre not dependable nor do they take the customers time serious. No manager would get on the phone to assist me. I just got treated like my 1377.00 was nothing to them ! They finally showed up 2/6/25 to get their table n chairs. They told me that I will get a check within 14 business days. I received the check yesterday at my physical address, In which I did give them a mailing address to mail my check they failed to do that as well thank God I was able to receive the check at the physical address ! just a horrible experience overall in general and they showed absolutely no compassion...
