Subway — Restaurant in Clearwater

I rarely eat Subway (and by rarely, I mean it’s been a couple years) because of the quality of food, however, sometimes it’s the most convenient option. Start to finish with walking in, I waited about 25 minutes for my food to be made with 3 people in front of me. The lady that served me made it very apparent how frustrated and unhappy she was with her job. I ordered a steak and cheese (now $16 for a meal) and got back to my office which is one block away, and began to eat my (ice cold) steak and cheese. Ironically, we discussed at the register how they have had a price increase and how expensive food has gotten. One might dare to think a company like Subway would improve on their experience and product delivery. I guess this location missed the memo. Anyway, I proceeded to call the location which just goes dead air when you ask to speak to someone at the location. I called 3 times, and every time, dead air for 5 minutes on hold, and no answer. I am too busy to get in my car and drive one block to wait in line for 20 minutes again just for her to put my sandwich in the microwave. So, I put it in my own microwave. The completely miserable older lady is still there and just as grumpy as ever, as of today. When I walked in there was only one person in front of me and she gave me the stink eye for just walking in. To top it off after she made his sandwich she said nothing to me but went to lock the side entrance because the wind kept opening it (not sure about that but I'm sure the fire Marshall would have an issue with only one unlocked door for patrons) Anyway, on her way back by me she grumbled something along the lines of she had 3 sandwiches to make. So she started making those without looking up, apologizing, explaining they were online orders or anything.... needless to say I left as I was afraid whatever she has that is causing her to be so miserable maybe contagious or something. Awful ! Years ago I loved subway sandwiches. The more time that went by, the worse it got and I quit going. Over the last year subway has been running commercials on tv with celebrities talking about the really new fresh sandwiches. Today I stopped at a subway (18419 US Hey 19 N in Clearwater Fl ) hoping their advertised “freshness” was a real thing ! It’s not ! The guy who waited on me couldn’t have cared less ! The meat was slimy and the condiment section was unsightly and unsanitary with rusty lettuce, rusty onions , dirty tin containers and tins piled on tins. It was disgusting . I paid for the Sandwich (a whopping $6.41) and threw it in the trash. Subway should really be ashamed of themselves. I’ll never go in a Subway...
