We had visited this location for a passport during walk-in hour, 1:30-2:30. We were the third group in line for the same reason. Right away, Elaine was rude and seemed annoyed by the line for passports. She immediately claimed she could not do them all, which would have been fine had she just been polite and informative about it. Then, a friendly gentleman came out and said they could do one more, but also went above and beyond to make a phone call to see if the closest post office could take a few as walk-ins right away. They said they could. He was very friendly and helpful.
But Elaine has to be the most unfriendly, demeaning, snippy and slow customer service personnel I’ve ever met. She just held out her hand for an item rather than state what she needed. She had a problem with the way anyone would do anything and certainly had no issues giving her two cents on whether a passport card was needed or not despite what I actually requested. She could not have possibly seemed more annoyed that she had to do her job. I’d feel bad for her if she seemed overworked, but during the entire time we were there, there was minimal traffic coming and going. Nothing compared to some other post offices I’ve been to and even they manage to stay friendly. The other reviews for this location are on par with our experience and if you’re in line, wait for someone else other than the older lady named Elaine for help, absolutely...
Read moreIt's sad that this entire location deserves 1 star review because of one severely rude and unpleasant employee. Yes, Elaine, if you haven't guessed based on other reviews. I have firsthand watched her be rude to every customer in front of me in line, each visit. So i always put on my best customer service voice and make sure I'm straight to the point with what I need done- organized and efficient, yet she is still rude to me too. Elaine is consistently trying to make her customers feel stupid, or wrong, and I'm not sure what for. When I'm at work I keep most of those thoughts in my head, and maintain a level of politeness and diplomacy. I watched her be very rude to a very elderly woman who was having a hard time with her shipments, instead of being sensitive to her disability/needs. I also witnessed her be rude and very discriminatory towards a Hispanic family trying to get passports so they could have their children meet their grandparents and that was purely disheartening. She must be a superior at this location to have not been fired by now, genuinely. But considering the other reviews, and my experiences over the years, I'm amazed that corporate hasn't let her go. Her customer service doesn't exist. Elaine makes 0 attempt to be polite, diplomatic, friendly, or helpful. In fact, she makes a point to be condescending, and make you feel like a burden for simply wanting to pay...
Read moreWe went to the Larkspur post office to renew passports. We showed up 10 minutes early with all paperwork & photos completed & ready to go. The man at the counter was extremely rude. He told us we had to wait to see if the person before us showed up. That person never showed up & the man working at the counter didn’t come to start our scheduled appointment until our appointment time has passed. We were the only ones at the post office. He then told us our photos were not acceptable (because we were smiling & had teeth showing) but said we could send them to “see what happens”. The application website says nothing about specifications for teeth showing & the passport example application hanging up at the Larkspur post office has a person smiling with teeth showing. He was not friendly or helpful in any manner. We are extremely disappointed. I would suggest going to another post office since this man obviously has no customer service skills & could care less about people who take time to follow instructions. I wish I got his name to warn others about his...
