I rented pads for less than 48 hours but was charged for 3 days time. I rented the pads for two night sessions and tried to return early on the last day to get the 3rd day refunded since we didn't even use the pads on that day, but were refused. The response from the manager was that they always advise renting for less time and asking for an extension, rather than renting and possibly returning early. I literally had questions about the 2 day vs 3 days when I made the rental but received no such advice -- just that I needed to pay for 3 days even though I was only renting for 2 sessions, which makes me think that this place is all about profits rather than caring about your experience.
Furthermore, the pads we got were beat up and ripped up as hell (pics included). A pad this size costs less than 200$, so it should only take around 10-15 days of rentals to make back the cost. I think that after a certain point the foam in the pads gets compromised and can't catch a fall as well. I don't see why they can't afford to get new pads and why they are so stingy with their day policies
Not to mention when I called ahead the week before renting I was told that for my two night sessions it would be counted as two days, so when I arrived at the location and they said it'd be 3 I was pretty shocked. I think that some employees are a bit more reasonable and allow it, and some don't. I guess I just got unlucky.
Leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because it is conveniently located, does function to some degree, and had the bouldering book for the area which was...
Read moreTravis, young Travis, and the rest of the team are not just knowledgeable—they’re passionate about what they do. Every time I’ve visited, they’ve provided insightful, candid advice and personalized recommendations. On one occasion, they even stayed late, patiently letting me try on multiple shoe sizes until I found the perfect fit for my upcoming bouldering trip. That level of dedication is hard to find!
The shop’s selection of consigned and used gear is impressive, making it a fantastic option if you’re passing through for a quick climb. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned climber, they have something for everyone, and the staff will go above and beyond to ensure you leave with exactly what you need.
I’ve also had the pleasure of climbing with a few of their guides—each one was not only highly experienced and professional but also brought so much energy and enthusiasm to the climbs.
if you’re planning to stop by later in the day, it’s a good idea to give them a call ahead of time since their hours can vary from what’s listed online.
Overall, this place sets the bar high with their gear selection, customer service, and guiding expertise. Can’t recommend...
Read moreI recently purchase a jacket from this store over ebay. It was shipped in a timely manner, and the size was great. The color of the jacket that i received was not as advertised though. The picture showed a tan color jacket, the jacket i received was more of a mustard color. I therefore returned the item. I was surprised that when I was processing the return, that I was asked for a 15% restocking fee. I paid $260.00 initially for the jacket and got only reimbursed $221.00 when I returned the item. Can you believe that? The restocking fee was part of the return policies, but I never saw that info when i purchased the item. A couple of emails back and forth with desertrocksports, and I still have not received a reimbursement for this ridiculous restocking fee. I've never paid a restocking fee in my entire life. This is the first time. Very disappointed by the store's...
