These 2 stars are soly based on one particular person, who I'm concerned about. I was at St. John's nursing center on 2/11/24 at around 16:00. I was visiting my father who is in the second floor. I had a request and a question I needed to ask. I went to the front desk on the second floor and asked 4 staff members if they know were my father's nurse was so I can talk to her. No one knew how to get in contact with the nurse. Nobody knew where she is or might be. Later on I found out she was in one of the rooms but know one knew nothing there. I asked to speak to the head nurse. A lady told me she was the head nurse in charge. I asked her name. " She said my name is Ann". "I am the head nurse." She asked me what I wanted the nurse for. I told her the reason. She said when sh e see the nurse, she'll let her know I want to speak to her. 30 minutes pass by nothing. I'm in the hallway the whole time and observe nurse Ann doing nothing but talking to a young lady there (staff member) that was on her cell phone the whole entire 3 hours we was there. I went back to nurse Ann and asked her again if she saw my father's nurse. She dosen't know anything. Now I'm getting upset because she was there the whole time doing nothing. Not even on the computer. I wanted to see if they could give my father oxygen from the tanks not the recycled air machine. I finally got an answer from nurse Ann and she told me that they couldn't do that. I said ok. I understand. I was concerned about my father's sugar level and asked him if they checked it today. He said no. It's 4pm now and no one checked his sugar. I asked head nurse Ann is there anyway she can find out if his sugar was check. She replied " yes, the staff checks his sugar 3 times a day and it was checked already " I ask are you sure or you assuming. She said " I'm sure" I let her know that i was taking her word for it and that I'm holding her responsible if something happens. She replied "No I'm not responsible, not me" So finally , after checking the rooms I see my father's nurse who is nurse Chantel. Very nice nurse Ms. Chantel and very helpful. I asked her if they checked my father's sugar today (because he's diabetic) she said "no not yet because she had to wait for something or someone to clear it" She said "I'm going rite now to check it and give him the insulin he needs". I thanked her as she attended to him fast. Thank you kindly nurse Chantel. Now I hope the director of this center looks into the behavior of Nurse Ann and some of the staff members there that work the weekend. I was told that this always happened on the weekends because there are no bosses there. So some of them, not all not doing what they supposed to do. I would encourage the director to look a the video monitor on that date and time so they can see for themselves. Not knowing or not giving a diabetic his insulin is very serious and can cause death. I hope the director of this facility takes this seriously. I tried calling the director but only answering machine. No call back as of yet. This is soly based on the action of head nurse Ann. Thank you again nurse Chantel from the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband was at this facility in 2017 and it was a horrific experience. The level of care was far below standard. His health, hope & spirit quickly diminished. Each day family members, or I, would visit we noticed how badly he was looking & how unhappy he was. He was to be there for 2 weeks but after 1 1/2 weeks he said, "get me out of here or this is where I will die!" This, coming from a man who rarely complained about anything. Some of the nurses had no compassion nor concern for patients. After my getting another distress call from him one night at 11 p.m. that his oxygen tank was not working & no one would come when he buzzed & he needed me to call the nurse's station to find someone, that was it. I went there the next morning to have him released. When I informed his nurse that he was leaving & to please prepare his release papers while I dressed him, she was sitting at the nurse's station chatting & eating an apple. She looked at me, nodded, kept on eating her apple & chatting & then kept us waiting 45 minutes after he was dressed & ready to go, as we sat on his bed. I went back out to her & told her we had an appointment at the hospital & needed to leave, she still didn't do anything, not until she saw me go into the Human Resources Office. The HR rep attentively prepared papers. That nurse saw this then came in to his room saying she was going to get him ready & stated a rude comment to me. My husband said she was always disrespectful to him. The only 'positive' there was his P/T sessions. He had a male therapist who was caring & attentive. My husband was so thankful to be out of there. We headed straight to the hospital where he was treated for some issues much worse than when he was admitted to St. John's. Please do your research, read the reviews & find an appropriate facility for your loved ones. My husband has passed away since, but I will never forget how this affected him. His stay was short but I know it was one of the worst experiences of his life. I felt it was time for me to write and make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the worst place to send your beloved elderly. I had better care from my vet for my 7 month old puppy. The vet gave us a 3 page instructions sheet on how to take care of her post surgey and I had 2 phone after we picked her to make sure she was doing well. St. JOHNS rehab has yet to call my mom and I have left 2 messages after speaking with the floor nurse. She told me that she did not have information on my mom because she was discharged and that I had to refer to the folder that my mom given. Somehow durung transportation this folder never made it home, needless to say that this nurse made me upset because I'm sure if she really wanted to, she could look at my mom's information with a few clicks of the keyboard. Meanwhile my mom has to have dialisys 3 times a week. She came home with several medications and we were not given any instructions on how to take care of her and administer medications or who would pick her for her dialisys. I did get a phone call back from the same nurse and after pressing her for more information she finally gave the number to the dialisys center. She also stated that it was not the rehabs center responsibility to make sure that patients that leave the rehab are in good hands and transitioning well. She also stated that they were not a hospital and that it was our responsibility to call our PcP to get more info. Beware of this establishment since they do not have respect for...
