Hart EMC is absolutely horrible! I would avoid them in anyway if you can! I unfortunately have to have multiple accounts with them and they have been terrible from the start. They can never hook up a house by address, they canât never seem to find the home in the system and have to have the meter number, so make sure you have that on hand if you absolutely have to set up with them. Also beware if you ever receive a notice about âtree trimmingâ from them. Itâs not a trimming, the will completely remove all of your trees, they wonât even mark the trees or anything before coming out and just cutting them down, they donât give you the option to relocate the trees either. I know because I just lost two very expensive crape myrtles, that were probably older than the people they sent to cut them down. They also wonât stay in the right of way, they drive all over your property, your septic lines and tank included, but when it breaks they wonât be responsible to pay for the repair. They also left the âtrimmingsâ stacked up on the back of my property, because why would they bother to clean up the mess they made. Donât bother calling the right of way supervisor, it will just go to voicemail because they donât care. This wouldnât be an issue if Hart EMC would put their lines on the right of way of the road instead of zigzagging them through peoples homes. If you have the option for another power company I highly suggest using them, I so wish Georgia power would come right down the road so I...
Read moreI came a few months back because I wanted to settle my grandmother's estate but didn't realize the power bill had lapsed. I wanted to finish going through and over all the items she had on her home, but as I had no power, I needed to come to here to do what was needed to fix the problem. Most of the employees here are incredibly rude and insensitive to put it simply. They kept rubbing in my face over and over the fact that my grandmother had passed away, clearly ignoring any discomfort or sorrow I was expressing. They also kept pushing me past any topic of conversation of what other options I could explore to continue service at her old house, and gave me the ultimatum of pay her old bill or never power her home again, as I couldn't reinstate service in my name until it was settled. Then when I tried to handle said bills, they added all these extra steps they didn't tell me about at all until I was ready to handle what I thought was all I had to do, and then have me even more to do. I don't think anyone here actually cares about anyone and they are only here to fill their pockets, no matter who gets hurt in the process. They spread out their steps on what to do to avoid doing any actual work for as long as possible. Easily the WORST electric company I've ever had to discuss and have...
Read moreThis is the worst, unfair treating power company out of all the power companies that I have ever dealt with....If you are a person of color you better go another way because you will not be treated like they treat the other ethnic group of people...To have Caucasians constantly tell me that Hart EMC provides them with service quickly(and some reviews confirms that) is beyond heart breaking because Hart EMC is telling me 3weeks due to a small amount of rain during the week and because of July the 4th....This company needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau, also needs other electrical companies alternatives to them in the area that they service...I'm wondering how do they live their lives and sleep at night knowing that they are treating people unfairly. The Georgia EMC that regulates them is a joke. They allow this Co-op to practice unfair and discriminatory service to certain ethnic groups. Georgia Power, Three Notch EMC, Mitchell EMC, Jackson EMC, or City Electrical companies doesn't operate with unethical, bias, unfair, or discriminatory practices..And to call me a liar because I told what was told to me, and get on the website, read reviews, and see another Caucasian saying the same exact thing that I was told(but...
