John's Precision Body Shop — Local services in Lehigh Township

It is with a heavy heart that I sit down to write this review. I wanted so much for this to be a positive experience. I drive an iconic car. It is my one indulgence in life. I have owned the car for over 25 years. My wife calls her my "metal mistress". I do the best I can to care for her properly. Well, I hit a pot hole that was more like a crater one night in a parking lot and damaged my front lip and valence. The guy that I used to take my car to for body work was a true gentleman, and his son, Mike Jr. was an excellent painter. I was devastated to hear that Mike Sr. had suddenly passed away. The business was sold and I was told Mike Jr. had moved to Florida. So, I had to find a new body shop. John's Precision seemed to get consistent good reviews so, I took 'My Baby' there. Now, John comes across as a truly ‘nice guy’ and the young lady at the front desk is both friendly and professional. When the work was done I was excited to go pick the car up. I was really happy as I drove her home that evening. The next morning I got up to go for a drive and was stunned to see that The Paint Didn't Match!!! My Heart Fell! The front bumper and the hood of the car are separated by a distinct line and it's easy to see the color difference between the two. It's one of those things where once you see it, you can't unsee it. I returned to John and pointed out the different shades. He acknowledged it and said, “Well, it’s still pretty good.” When asked what would it take to correct it he replied, "a coupla thousand dollars!” So, essentially it could be corrected, it could be done better. The question that comes to my mind is why wasn't that Better Effort made the first time? Where I grew up we learned that taking Pride in your work would Always generate you Best Effort! My friend Bob owns the same car and we often go to ‘Cars & Coffee’ together. He says, ‘D…my car looks good from a distance, your car looks good close up.” Well, that’s no longer the case. This place is amazing! I hit a deer on the evening of December 23rd, by the afternoon of the next day I was dropping off my 4Runner and picking up a rental car. John arranged everything with my insurance company. The text updates every step of the way. On Wednesday the 30th, I got a text saying it was halfway done, an hour later it was finished and John called me to let me know I could pick it up anytime. Quality of work is excellent. Paint match is perfect, you'd never know work was even done. Also keep in mid this all happened between Christmas and New Year. I never even expected to be able to get the vehicle in before the New Year, let alone be driving it again. They definitely treat you like family. John and his guys did a phenomenal job fixing the damage caused to my rear panel/lights/bumper/trunk caused by a drunk driver who hit me while stopped at a light. True professionals, on time for the work done, stayed in contact and answered any questions I had. So glad he services the Poconos/Gouldsboro area. Highly recommend! These guys rock.
