Top Tier service!
I had an awesome experience with this shop. I had an upcoming trip that was 2 days away. I convinced my boyfriend who hasn't camped since he was a child and had no desire to ever camp again to go camping with me. I wanted to get him a really good sleeping pad to ensure he didn't have a miserable time so I researched and settled on the perfect product based on reviews online.
As we all know, highly rated products tend to be sold out frequently and due to the covid -19 pandemic even more so. I stayed up all night hunting for this sleeping pad and couldn't find it anywhere. It was backordered by the manufacturer for weeks. After countless google search pages of disappointment I stumbled upon Arcadian Shop and couldn't believe my luck, never heard of them before. They had 2 in stock, I hurriedly placed an order for 1 and accidentally chose store pickup ...I am in NJ so that was an epic fail. I immediately emailed an order cancellation request. I received an email later that morning that my order was cancelled as requested, no hassles whatsoever.
I then called Arcadian Shop at around 11:30 am and explained my situation that I wanted to reorder and needed to receive this sleeping pad the next day in order to take it on my upcoming trip. This store went above and beyond, they packaged and rushed the item to the carrier to ensure It would be delivered the next day. I am happy to say I received the package in time. My boyfriend had a comfortable camping experience with his new plush Nemo sleeping pad. Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Arcadian Shop, you...
Read moreBest Shop in the area - hands down. I love customer service and I love a good mechanic - this has both...Here's what happened....Came to upstate NY for a little RnR and shipped my bike...Yup - Rear Derailleur was smashed - the deraileur hanger was pretty much finished. Didn't know what I'd do but walked in and was immediately met by Jeff (Co-owner) who said "you look like a guy who needs some help" then proceeded to personally walk me downstairs to the bike shop. Rick happens to have lived where I live now and we had a good conversation about MTB. In the process he re-straightens what was a useless hanger and got it back into working order. Later he tells me of a group ride that leaves from the area on Tuesday Nights for a "Fast Gravel Ride". I show up and meet Keith (another Co-owner) and we go for almost 2 hours through singletrack, gravel, pavement, etc...With a great group of guys. Keith tells me the whole crew (Owners) are from the area and you can really tell. It takes a lot to run a shop like that and its solid. ...
Read moreUpdated review, I contacted Chris, per his response to my review. He addressed the issues I mentioned in my initial review. This is a well stocked, high quantity outdoor gear shop with a knowledgeable staff.
Last fall we purchased two sets of x country skis, puffy coat and misc. clothing. The clerk, Randy, was super helpful. At the register, he gave me two $30 credit receipts and thanked us for coming in. There is no mention of an expiration date. Last Saturday, my wife and I came in and made another large purchase; I pulled out the receipts. The gentleman behind the counter actually laughed while he said, "These are only good for 30 or 60 days." I checked, the receipts have no expiration date, nor was one mentioned last fall. He then went on to say, I'll give you $30 off. We leave. I get home, and I look at the receipts. No credit at all. Laughed at and...
