Antimony Brewing - Craft Brewery & Kitchen — Restaurant in Lenox

Out of the beer that we wanted. The beers that we got were just okay. Ordered pretzel to share before our meals. The pretzel was big, but also expensive for a pretzel. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. We both ordered fish and chips. The fish was overdone and the breading was actually hard. The fries were cold. The waiter never came by to ask how it was. It was served on a tray with paper underneath. The paper did not hold up when trying to cut the overdone fish. Another server did come by to clear our trays when we had sat with them for a while. It also took a while to get our check and you pay on a servers phone. I also think it is very tacky to have tip percentages to choose from on the phone. The dining room had a cafeteria feel and there should be half walls or something to divide it up a little. The music was country.

We decided to give it a second chance. It may have been even worse. We sat outdoors and were seated next to a very messy service station. There were dogs out there. I do like dogs, but they should not be allowed even if it is outdoors. There food is sub standard and overpriced. The server we had were petting some of the dogs at the other tables. When she was on her way back to pick up an order, she had to pass by our table. I said to her that I sure hoped she washed her hands before handling anyone's (including ours) food to deliver. Antimony it turns out is the 51st metal and a nod to 51 Park, their sister restaurant. There are several similarities between the menu and their are several items unique to Antimony, too. Lots of great beers - enough varieties for anyone to find something. Plenty of parking. And an outdoor patio too. We like IPA and had the east coast and west coast offerings and found both true to their style and great offerings in their class, too. We would have opted for a flite and tried more, but several of the beers we were interested in try were not on tap. Nonetheless we were happy with the two we chose! The food was stellar. Not only that, when I and my spouse decided to split a lamb burger and the harvest salad, greens with roasted butternut squash - the server had the kitchen split the dishes before they came to the table - a simple thing and a great touch, too. We can’t ever remember staff at any other restaurant being so thoughtful! All this on top of really great food. The salad was a nice balance between greens, butternut, cranberries, and candied nuts and was served with a honey mustard dressing. The fries were delicious. And the lamb burger - one of the best. I generally don’t review restaurants because typically there are no great surprises in terms of pleasant or necessarily unpleasant experiences. We felt compelled to review this restaurant principally because of how terrible the experience was. We were in Lennox for a concert and because the crowds tend to be quite large thought we would grab a quick dinner at 4:45 PM allowing more than enough time. We were seated fairly quickly, but could not get anyone to wait on us, despite the fact that the restaurant did not appear to be terribly busy and they did have a large number of staff walking around. I had to go to the hostess twice. Ultimately she came over to take our order. It took quite some time to cook two burgers. They were not particularly good. In fact, one was inedible and did not even have the cheese melted on it- just sort of thrown onto the burger. When we asked a server to give us some ketchup she came over and literally threw it on the table. If this was not bad enough, it was mostly empty and we had to ask another staff member for a different ketchup bottle! We never saw our waiter during the entire time we were there other then to finally get a check which was also a challenge. Overall, I would say that this is a place to avoid.
