This is by far my favorite grocery store, and favorite Hannaford. Their Hannaford To Go Service is spot on. Last week I got a delivery from Hannaford. Hannaford did everything right but the delivery service mucked up and left our groceries out in the hot sun without letting us know they'd arrived, and then, AND THEN- they delivered the next batch to the wrong address. Needless to say I was irritated and it was an unpleasant experience. I have to say that Hannaford did everything right and went above and beyond to make right my order. They even offered credit on my next purchase. I thought it would be red tape to get the credit, but I was absolutely delighted today when they remembered me from last week and honored the credit they promised. I love this store. I am a person who is home bound due to being on chemo. I am very often ill and unable to go out for groceries. Being able to have good, quality groceries delivered or available to pick up without having to leave my vehicle is truly life saving. The in store shoppers pick the freshest, most delicious ingredients. My fruits and veggies always look beautiful and are exactly what I'd pick if I were walking the aisles myself. The customer service at the Lewiston store is phenomenal. I wish I could remember the wonderful young man's name who loaded my car last week, or the incredibly empathetic and professional manager I talked to regarding the botched delivery. Read moreAs an Instacart shopper, I can understand and work around the out of stock items this location consistently has. Tonight, though, (12/11/22) when that issue added 15 minutes AT LEAST onto my order, I expected the store associates to be a little lenient on me taking a while to find my items. However, I came up to the register at 9 o’clock exactly and the manager on duty (conveniently not wearing a nametag) told us we couldn’t cash out. Imagine doing an hour and a half’s worth of work to be told you can’t be cashed out at 9 o’clock. I’ve worked retail, I’ve been a retail manager, I know how the tills and the registers work. There is absolutely no reason we should not have been allowed to cash our 50+ items out for three different customers. This is disgusting and for that same manager to laugh at the idea of me losing money, be condescending and rude to me when asked if we could cash out, and continue to smirk and be confident in himself? I’m never taking an InstaCart order from this store again. You guys are nasty. “My workers don’t want to stay past 9”, yet every other retailer at least takes care of the customers in the store before complaining. Do your jobs. Read moreI had just arrived from Florida to visit my mom. I dropped her off at a beauty parlor in Sabattus and went to the Hannaford store in Lewiston to pick up a few items., While there, I lost my mother's car keys. I was really upset because my 98 year old Mom was going to be waiting for me to get her, and I didn't know the name of the salon. I couldn't reach her. Josh, an employee, came to my help. He and I searched all of the aisles I had used. Then Mr. Biron helped me. He even came to the car and searched outside. The manager came over and suggested that I take a cab while they would continue to look for my keys. I called for a taxi, but the taxi company was so busy that they had a recorded message saying to try calling again later. Then, when everything seemed like it was lost, an employee came outside with my keys! They had dropped into a cart, which is what Mr. Biron thought had happened. I'm so impressed with the generous display of concern. Mr. Biron deserves a medal for making my problem his problem....
