My husband Tim and I started to look for a home back in January 2016, we had been to a lot of dealers in the Columbia area and Orangeburg I was getting sick of looking at so many homes when we come across Homemax. The first thing we notice was the Bible scripture on their sign out front and than the minute we walked in Dave and Jay come out of there office to greet us with a smile on their face they made us feel like we were family from the get go they took there time telling us about the homes on the lot. Of course when we went into the fourth home I fell in love with it. It had everything we were looking for in a home, we left that day without a decision and continued going to other dealerships but I kept going back to homemax and looking at the home I fell in love with no matter how many times I went back Jay always greeting with a smile as if it was my first time though there doors. By the first of March we had made up our mind to buy from Homemax best decision we ever made everything they told us about the home,and repair crew was spot on. Our home was delivered on the first of May 2016 Ralph who delivered our new home and set it up was very polite and did an excellent job setting our home on it's foundation, than the inside crews showed up and did there part they were also very polite. We've hade the repair guys from the home office here twice just for minor things that come when a home is settling they showed up when they said they would if they were running late they called me. All in all I would highly recommend Homemax to anyone it's a very good built home our highest electric bill this summer was 194.00 that's great since my husband loves to keep it cold inside. But last but not least is that Jay will still call to see how things are going and do we have any needs or concerns with our new home very honest good Christian people there at homemax I'm so glad we walked though their doors on that cold January day Thanks so much Dave and Jay God bless you and yours

Bought our new home from Homemax in April of 2020 (delivered June 2020) after loosing everything we had in a house fire in December 2019. Ever since we moved in to the new house we have had nothing but problems. We were never told that our house has almost no wood structure to it. It's mostly styrofoam and rated for 50-60mph winds. Mind you we bought a 76 ft long single wide and we live on a hill. After trying for over a month we finally had someone come out to re-level the house after it settled some. 2 weeks ago we found a leak under the house. Called Homemax and after several days they had a plumber call to schedule a time to come out and check out the problem. Plumber said he couldn't find any broken pipes or plumbing issues. He thinks it was a problem with the AC unit inside the house and it leaking through the floor. So we called Homemax back to get them to send an Air conditioning company out and now they tell us that there is nothing they can do bc our house is no longer under warranty. So now what are we supposed to do? It's obvious that the leak under the house has been going on for quite some time now but they don't seem to care or feel that they have any responsibility in the matter. Very unprofessional staff all around. I received email between staff members that called my husband and I "nasty" and "unpleasant to deal with" all bc we were persistent in getting a response from someone about work needing to get done. Homemax says they are all about customer satisfaction and customer service but in reality they are just out to take your money and screw you over. I just want to say this is my second review of this place because I took my first review down due to the owner coming down to our home and telling me to take it down very rudely! Well this one will stay put I’m no longer afraid of the rude owner of Home Max! Don’t buy from Home Max due to there being scripture on their boards and Bibles in all their homes because we thought this place was a Godly based business but boy was we wrong! My husband and I waited until he was 53 and I was 48 to purchase our forever home only to have our hearts broken! This business is a joke. Once they sale you the home and they get their money they are done with you! We have had nothing but trouble with our home. Right now we are dealing with our floors being uneven and I mean really uneven it’s horrible. We’ve tried calling and even emailing and no response whatsoever. They don’t care once they have their money. For anyone that has had good service out of them I’m happy for you but for us this house has been a total nightmare and it’s not even been two years yet. Think long and hard before you purchase from them because it all sunshine and rainbows and then once they have their money they have no clue who you are! Below is a leaky sink that was supposedly fixed once before but apparently wasn’t fixed right so now the cabinets are ruined and also a spot in the ceiling that was fixed twice and apparently never done right.
