Before I start with this less than stellar review, as a multiple business owner myself, customers are going to have valid issues from time to time and the management needs to properly handle these instances. I never leave a bad review without giving the business a chance to fix the problem on site. 90%+ of my online reviews are 5 star. This one is not. 2 stars were earned for service and food. As a long time customer of many San Jose Restaurants throughout the Midlands, I'm used to good service, good food, and fresh beer. That last item is the issue. A pitcher of Dos Equis Amber accompanies my meal at any Mexican restaurant in the US. The beer served today was flat and I informed the waitress. I'm not sure if she understood? The food showed up quickly and we ate. I had a pint out of the pitcher and that was enough. Thankfully my wife had some tasty sweet tea to wash down my dinner. As our checks were delivered, again, I questioned the waitress about the flat beer. She said to talk with the manager upon paying. I did just that and told him that the keg needed to be changed, as the beer was flat. He responded that the kegs were "serviced" this morning and there was nothing wrong with the beer. He reluctantly removed the charge for the pitcher and mumbled something. Very professional. Of course, this was the same guy sitting at the table near the bar with others eating Chick-Fill-A when we arrived. Mr. Leon might want to reassess his choice of manager at...
Read moreService initially good. Food served fast. No more checks by the waiter. I ordered Lunch #1 Chili Relleno. The salad looked good served with a green tomato, they forgot the sour cream that is usually served with a Mex themed salad. My taco was cold. The meat was cold. I got beans, I usually am asked if I prefer beans or rice. I don't like the beans. The Relleno was mush and when I found the tiny piece of green pepper it was rancid as if it was cut a long time ago. I told the Mgr at check out and he could care less. I used to eat at San Jose's on a regular basis 2-4 times per month. Now the prices are double and the food is worse. Never again. Taco Bell has better prices with better tasting food. What I brought home my dog would not even touch. He loves to eat but he wouldn't give it a second look....
Read moreFirst & last time eating here. The food quality is terrible. I ordered a simple taco salad and it was watery from beans and whatever else they didn't drain. By the time you mixed it up it was so soggy & there was hardly any meat in it. My husband ordered the whole fish and you could tell it was a low grade. There was hardly any meat on it & it tasted stale. Basically, he got a flat fish, a scoop of rice and some kind of cucumber mix. My son ordered El Pastore tacos and they were served with the smallest tortilla ever with a redish looking meat. His lettuce and tomatoes came in a different bowl with baby food looking refried beans. Even the queso was watery. You can tell they're trying to pinch pennies & make the food last as long as possible. I would never...
