Dear Hungry Google Searchers- look elsewhere for To-Go Orders.
A few months back we called in to place a to-go order. It was around 7 on a mundane week night. We were hungry and had a newborn, thus could not dine out. No one answers the phone after minutes of ringing. So we call back again, let ring and ring, no answer. At this point it’s getting late, we’d already invested a good half hour into deciding where to eat and picking through the menu for an agreeable meal. So, we called back a third time. This time, a girl answered like she didn’t want to answer. We ordered the chicken parm and cheese knots. She quickly tells us it’s going to be at least an hour in a manner that’s clear she didn’t want us to order. At this point we take the not-so-subtle hint and are stuck grabbing fast food.
A few months go by and we want to give Luces another chance at taking our money. On the night of 12/4/18, a slow Tuesday at 7:45, we called to place a to-go order. When the girl picked up the phone she said “hold” and set it on the counter and never picked it back up. This wasn’t “hold”, this was leave the phone off the hook until they go away. They were sitting there talking and goofing off right beside the phone. It didn’t sound busy but they would not pick it back up. We sat there for 10 minutes because we had already spent the time to search for a place to eat and through the menu once again. We were determined for them to answer the phone. We finally hang up because, again, it was clear they didn’t want to take our money. We tried to call back just to check and, of course, it was to a busy line due to the phone still off the hook.
I thawed out frozen meat and boiled noodles for spaghetti as that was a faster option than calling in Luces a mile down the road. SAD!
If this was the first time something like this happened to us then I’d chalk it up to a mistake. I believe this is a pattern. Similar things have happened in addition to these two times. It’s always slow nights that they seem to be understaffed. I’ve accepted the hour waits on the simple orders before. I think there is a reluctance from the front girl to take to-go orders. Maybe it’s the management driving it but maybe it’s them thinking they don’t get a good tip on to-go food. With their phone service, a bad tip would ironically be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Unforgtunately, we’re finally done with them unless they reach out to make it right.

Read moreArguing with a customer over a $9 sandwich. Please save yourself the headache and do not order anything via online. Visited Angry fish brewery where I saw their menu posted. A previous visit to their restaurant left me reluctant to try them again but I thought how can they mess up a chicken sub? Ordered it online, added 20%tip for them to deliver to the brewery (per their advertising). After 30 minutes I called to make sure they received my order, thinking maybe online issues. The call taker said I did not have an order while someone in the background stated they were working on it. I said fine I'll be here waiting. Waited another 30 minutes (over 1 hour total) I called and asked for the order to be cancelled because of the time and I had left the brewery. I was taken back by the negative response that it could not be cancelled and then after I pushed was told a manager needed to talk to me. To my surprise all of a sudden my food was ready. Worse yet I was told that delivery of the food to the brewery was not guaranteed and was a service if not busy. Then why place menus stating you will deliver? Better yet as I had left only a few cars in the parking lot proved their busy statement false. Bottom line I had a terrible in restaurant experience a year ago with service and terrible food, which I decided to give another chance. It's incredible that I was made to feel as if I was in the wrong when I waited an hour for a simple chicken sub to be brought over based on their advertising. The charge has been contested, but worse the patrons at the brewery witnessed it all and they lost way more than a $9 sandwich at this point. I was so taken back by the attitude of the staff that I felt the need to break my high review rating history. Absolutely unacceptable.
*Edit from response: Completley false reply. The order clearly stated "Angry Fish Brewery" I went the extra step rather than writing AFBC per your sign states and picture posted. Also don't try to act like you didn't know since I had called and was told "we'll bring it right over". On the second call also stated you were bringing it over, nice try. If you were so busy, why not call me and ask to get the food? I even tipped extra for the convenience of bringing it over. Rather than owning the issue, you are still trying to lie your way out. Trust me, because of this you've lost way more than a $9 sale. From the looks of your recent review, I'm not...
Read moreI remember this restaurant being really good seven years ago and decided to show my husband what I remembered of this restaurant. If I could rate it no stars I would. When we got there we were told to wait because the host/waitress needed to count the drawer, she fiddled with it for a minute and then showed us to a table. When she sat us, she asked what we wanted to drink kind of in a snippy tone, my husband being diabetic asked for something diet and she was rude in informing us that they only had diet pepsi or unsweet tea, he chose tea. We waited for about ten minutes for her to come back and take our order, mind you she only had 3 other small tables and a larger table, we ordered the cheese garlic knots, a chicken parm, and a lasagna. The salads were drenched in water like it's been sweating in a bag in the fridge. The garlic knots were just half cooked dough and cheese, no garlic anywhere on or in them. The black gentleman who brought out our food was very nice, the only positive thing about the whole experience. The chicken parm with spaghetti were two processed chicken patties smothered in what seemed to be canned sauce and melted cheese with overcooked spaghetti noodles that stick to your teeth. The lasagna was overcooked like they forgot it in the microwave with hard noodles and then smothered in dollar store meat sauce. Meanwhile, the server looked very frantic and flustered going between the kitchen and tables, even serving my husband sweet tea not once but twice. He didn't bother correcting her a second time. While I tried in vain to choke down the processed meat, my husband looked around the room, what he saw was quite shocking to say the least. There was black mold surrounding several of the air vents in the ceiling, where the light fixtures hang was dirt cacked around them, and apparent water stains in certain places in the ceiling. I'm not sure how Dhec gave this place an A rating. On top of everything, our meal was just over $40, and the lady had to make small talk while we paid and of course had to mention religion. I specifically don't talk about religion because I don't want it to be shoved down my throat. Needless to say we will not be visiting this...
