Thank you to all the hard-working folks at the health department. Working with the general public can be very challenging, especially with limited funds and human resources. Lexington is very fortunate to have very active and dedicated individuals working to prevent illnesses and maintain the health and wellness of our community. I am especially partial to the health equity and education team! I am more familiar with this groups' efforts to promote the health, safety, and wellness to so many children, their families, and childcare providers. Most don't realize the unique ways this team reaches out to the community through their tireless outreach efforts which go well beyond the boundaries of our county. Please know that for every child you interact with at a health fair, or for each daycare provider that attends your training...you have made an impression that could make a difference in their life in some way. Fayette co. Needs to do better when it comes to hiring individuals. There is no knowledge when it comes to tattoo inspections and services. When filing for an event, they take your $100 in the office, but don’t tell you everything you need. This includes documents of your ‘layout’ which must be new. Only reason we found out is because of the actual inspector coming out and saying things were needed before we could start tattooing. This should have been told initially when we paid for the permit. There is way too much he said she said and no cross communication throughout the office and inspectors. I’m sure you ask any legit tattoo shop in lex, you will get the same feedback. Was placed on quarantine after being exposed to covid. Was exposed on Wednesday, did not receive any word from health dept until following MONDAY. Was then placed on a longer quarantine order. Never received my quarantine order through email so called the health dept. Lady who answered was RUDE. ZERO customer service skills, zero empathy after telling them I was on the verge of losing my job due to them never sending the quarantine order and my job didn’t believe my word of mouth. So thank you Lexington health dept for making this an even more stressful time!! This lady 1000000% needs to be fired or retrained bc after my experience I spoke to others who could identify the lady but just my experience bc they received the same treatment from her....
