Sneaky, Dirty, Hot event
This review is for Smithtown Seafood and West Sixth. We went for the Lexington Humane Society kitten event. We ordered online from Smithtown through the QR code from Wes Sixth at 5:15 pm and by 6:00 p.m. we hadn’t received our food. After 6:00 p.m. a waitress came through and picked up the QR code table tents for ordering from all the tables without talking to anyone or notifying any tables of issues. The table next to us also never received their food, and when the waitress came back they flagged her down and she told them that there was a glitch and the restaurant wasn’t receiving orders. I went into the restaurant from the bar and the cashier told me the online ordering system was supposed to shut off at 4:00 pm, but didn’t because of a glitch. There are no signs indicating you can’t order after 4:00 p.m. My spouse overheard the waitress tell the table next to us that there were other orders affected. Smithtown nor West Six made no attempt to address the issue despite knowing there was an issue. They made no attempt at customer service by announcing the issue. Instead, they tried to sneak through and pick up the QR codes without talking to people to see if they ordered online or offering a refund. We had to go into Smithtown and ask for refund. This place is always hot, greasy and dirty. When we told the Lexington Humane Society workers about hosting with another venue, they even complained about the humidity and the poor...
Read moreThe decor is unique and up to date. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the brewery, polite and quick to take your order. The kitchen has a variety if selections from seafood to vegetarian. In house deserts to beverages. Upon this visit I ordered the Classic Catfish Platter and at the bar an Oktoberfest. Both of which in my opinion compliment each other. The catfish was not over cooked or under cooked. Its texture was both crunchy and juicy. It was complimented with 2 golden brown hush puppies and and order of fries. Both of which were perfect. Not overly greasy or salty. (Things you find at other eateries.) The wait for my order was a meer 10 minutes. And the price was low considering the value of a freshly cooked meal. Very pleasing indeed. As for the Oktoberfest I found it quite pleasant. The non-overly bitter taste completed a pleasantly perfect meal. It is in the opinion of this Google guide that you stop by the West 6th Brewery..sit back relax and enjoy. You will not be...
Read moreOver the years I have been a regular at several establishments and I have traveled enough to be a one time or occasional patron at hundreds of bars across the country.
First, the beer is great. They have a wide variety of solid old faithful recipes, but they also are not afraid to push the envelope.
Secondly, and perhaps more importantly (depending on your perspective) If you are in town, I highly recommend spending some time in their taproom.
I have visited Lexington, Kentucky to see my wife's family at minimum two to three times a year since 2015. During every visit, I have made a point of stopping at West Sixth. In the dozen or so visits to the brewery I have had a delightful experience every single time.
Whether on my own working remotely from their bar or with my wife or in-laws, the taproom staff has been knowledgeable and struck up easy conversation as if I were a regular.
The above is the mark of not only a great brewery, but a great...
