My current optometrist had recently became a concierge optometrist and I have friends who use Stratton Eyes so it made sense to go there based on their recommendations. I have worn glasses/contacs for 44 years so I Scheduled an appointment with Dr. Stratton in May and when I show up for my appointment I was seeing someone else and I was OK with that, but a bit disappointed since I made the appointment with Dr.Stratton. I had my exam and ordered two pair of glasses that arrived 6 weeks later and when I picked them up I couldn’t see out of them, and explained this to the gal doing the fit, she suggested I take them with me and come back in for a re-check, I didn’t want to take since I could not wear them. I went back several days later for recheck thinking Dr. Stratton would want to do the recheck since her student had made a mistake or the lens professionals had, nope saw the same person and was told my vision was fine and I would not need glasses and they would refund me. I was in shock and left. I was refunded, but I had to pay a restocking fee, I called and complained about that and was told “sorry” if you didn’t want the glasses we have to charge you a restocking fee. I sent an email to Dr. Stratton explaining my situation and frustration, hoping she would respond and help me get the prescription I needed and the glasses I so badly needed……No reply I also sent a message through their website…no reply! I ended back with my old Dr. paid out of pocket for a new exam and out of pocket for glasses with a prescription I can see through . All of this could have been avoided if Dr. Stratton would have communicated with me and said “let’s figure out what the problem is and try and fix it” rather than ignoring the problem. I am sure Dr. Stratton is an amazing person because she came highly recommended and 1 of the persons who recommended use to work for her and she was the one who said she would definitely want to know there was a...
Read moreI was concerned due to one of my eyelids looking like it was drooping. The doctor was obviously stressed and had limited time because he did not even take the time to make sure my eyes looked healthy. He just measured my eyelids to confirm ptosis. I think he was overwhelmed because he didn’t really know what was wrong, but instead of focusing on the basics and doing an actual eye exam, he tried to give me eye drops that were super expensive that can cause worsening of dry eyes. When I read up on the drops quickly while he was out of the room and found out that dry eyes could be an adverse effect he got short with me and said “well this is the first time I’m meeting you and I don’t know what is wrong”. I said thanks, I just want to make sure my eyes are healthy. He offered to refer me to an ophthalmologist which I agreed to. Fast forward several months later - I see another eye doctor (different office), she actually looked at me and said my eyes looked like they were irritated and dry which can cause a mild ptosis like I had. She prescribed steroid eye drops short course and allergy eye drops which improved my condition. I am in health care, I understand how stressful it is when you aren’t sure what is wrong with a patient but kindness can go a long way. Unfortunately, I can’t even remember this doctors name because I am editing this from when I was there months ago just so it isn’t just a bad review, but actually explains why. Hopefully he has improved his bedside manner. I will say though, Dr. Stratton sounds wonderful from other reviews and I wish I had seen...
Read moreI'd like to start by saying my family has been seeing Dr Stratton for a few years. She is extremely nice and professional and I would recommend going to her. However, I had an eye emergency during her vacation and had to see a different doctor in her office. Well, talk about an entirely different experience. Dr. Rich would not listen to anything I had to say about my injury/infection and apparently decided that it was allergies. I tried multiple times over 2 visits to explain how it started and progressed but she just wouldn't listen. I was not getting better and actually parts were getting worse. So, I went to a different practice yesterday (4 weeks after 2nd visit to Dr Rich). I hadn't been there before but am now moving my whole family there. The new doctor sat down with me and listened while I explained in detail how this started, how it progressed and what treatments I had sought and taken. Then he was able to pinpoint exactly what happened, how it affected my eyes, how to properly treat it and hopefully prevent it in the future. Dr. Rich wasted my time, my money and possibly longer term difficulty with my eyes. So, while I can recommend Dr Stratton, I do not recommend seeing Dr Rich. Listening to your patients is absolutely key to good medical care and she did not demonstrate the ability or willingness to do this during two...
