A Taste of Heaven at Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream in Lexington, Kentucky, and let me tell you, it was an experience I will never forget! Not only was the atmosphere welcoming and full of joy, but the ice cream itself was truly out of this world.
My top three favorite flavors were the Gooey Butter Cake, Blueberry Lime Cheesecake, and Cookies & Cream, and I simply cannot rave enough about them! Starting with the Cookies & Cream, it was a delightful blend of rich, creamy ice cream with generous chunks of cookies dispersed throughout. This classic flavor has never tasted better!
Moving on to the second favorite, the Blueberry Lime Cheesecake flavor was a revelation! It struck the perfect balance of fruity freshness from the blueberries and a tangy kick from the lime, all combined with a luscious cheesecake base. Every spoonful was like biting into a heavenly slice of cheesecake.
Finally, my absolute favorite - the Gooey Butter Cake! This ice cream took decadence to a whole new level. The rich, buttery cake pieces were generously embedded within the smooth and creamy ice cream, creating a melt-in-your-mouth experience that left me craving more.
The staff at Crank & Boom were friendly, helpful, and genuinely passionate about their mission to create joy, ignite laughter, and inspire compassion. Their dedication to the community and their craft is evident in every scoop they serve.
I highly recommend Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream to anyone in the Lexington area, or even if you're just passing through. Trust me, you won't regret indulging in these...

The only thing that I hate about this place is that they've jumped on the political bandwagon regarding pronouns. There was a note on the door recently asking people to say "friend" versus he, she, etc. It's a business, not a political stamping ground. If that's what they are becoming then I will not visit any longer. I want a place that I can go to with friends and enjoy without having things like that shoved in people's faces. My friends and I have always treated people with respect and I find this disrespectful. I do recognize that not everyone is kind, but I still find it tasteless to put that out there in everyone's faces. I guess it's good that they do have it on the door before you go in so if it really bothers you can just turn around and leave. But I have never ever heard anything during my visits that would indicate why such a notification needs to be placed on their entrance. That said when a place becomes a political arena, I no longer have interest as it is no longer a neutral place to enjoy. And if that is the attitude that they are taking it won't be long before their...
Read moreWhile the ice cream at Crank & Boom is utterly delicious, our overall experience was completely lacking. When my partner and I visited yesterday, two associates behind the counter were deeply engaged in their own conversation (my partner described it as "flirting"). They didn't acknowledge us, ask if we'd been there before, or offer any assistance.
Even when we placed our order, their conversation continued without interruption. When my partner mentioned that I should've gotten a boozy milkshake, one associate nonchalantly replied, "I'd have to get someone else to make that."
The ice cream might be great, but the service was terrible. We felt ignored and unwelcome. I doubt we'll be returning, as the poor customer service overshadowed the quality of...
