My husband and I came in just to do some research on buying our very first couch. Everything we've had in the past has come from family, so it was time to upgrade. We came in the week between Christmas and New Year's so there was some good sales going on! We walked in and sat on one couch for just a few seconds before Alex comes up from the back of the store to greet us and see if we needed help. We explained to him we're doing research as it'll be our first furniture buying experience. He gave us a little tour of the store, showing us all the brands they carry and varieties of sectional couches. He also took the time to explain the inner structures of different brand couches to better understand why we feel what we feel when we sit down. That was really helpful. My husband and I then walked around to see everything and sit on all the sectionals. Alex then encouraged us to go to the other furniture stores in Bellefontaine and see what we may like or dislike about what's available elsewhere. So we did just that and visited the Ashley store, Tanger, and the outlet store across from Tanger. We didn't experience the same customer care or quality of furniture at any of the other stores and came back to Francis. Alex continued to walk us through the process, and really took the time to listen to our concerns and answered every question we had. It wasn't our plan, but we did end up buying a sectional that day. The most helpful part was being able to take a few fabric swatches home to see how the different fabrics look in our living room with the different lighting than in store. Not once did we feel pressured by Alex to buy our sectional that day, but through his expertise we did! Delivery did take 5 weeks to the day from order to receiving, but because we ordered at a busy time of year, we weren't concerned or bothered. Holidays are meant for family and now we can enjoy our comfy sectional with ours! We will definitely be returning to Francis for all our...
Read moreMy concern is not with the sales person or the quality of the furniture. The concerns lies with the fabric 5 year protection insurance/warranty plan that we paid for! We have a couple stains on our sofa, I called Francis Furniture and Alex told me that I was given a warranty paperwork at time of sale in 2020 that I would need to have kept! However we have moved homes since the purchase date and cannot find warranty! I went into store and Alex provided me a copy of sales receipt that shows we paid $199.00 for what shows as FAS PRO but Alex stated that was for Fabric protection! He told me to call Guardsman which is company that supposedly the insurance was through! I called them today and spoke to someone that I couldn’t really understand! The person I was speaking to had nothing in my or my wife’s name nor did they have a phone number tying anything together! Not even sure that the protection plan was through Guardian?? Alex told me that we needed to keep the paperwork ! I guess shame on us for losing it! I recommended to Alex that on their sales receipt it would be nice if the name of insurance company and policy number be stated in case another customer like us happens to lose their warranty paperwork but he didn’t seem to have any interest! Just frustrating to buy expensive furniture and insurance to protect it and not be able to tie anything back to to be able to use the...
Read moreHad a problem with my La-Z-Boy Lift Master Chair. I Called Francis Furniture, because that is where I made the purchase. Spoke with Alex (owner), he said he'd send out his serviceman. The serviceman didn't know anything about the chair, proceeded to tell me he hates working on them, and left without doing anything. He did not even have a screwdriver, a flashlight. or any other tool. His pants were down around his thighs, and we had to look at his underwear. When he left the chair was still inoperable, and I was angry. I cancelled the check for $150.00. Then I wrote a letter to Alex and explained why I cancelled the check. Then I called Alex and explained again why I cancelled the check. But my chair is not right. It is Still inoperable. I am wheel chair bound and need this chair to sleep in. I decided to call Alex back, and buy a NEW Chair, and then have him bring the old one into his shop to make the repairs. He called me back and told me no, he didn't want to do business with me. It is painfully obvious that we are dealing with an immature, selfish man, who doesn't need my business. Good Enough. I hope the rest of you will read this and think twice about visiting...
