Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Liberty Township

I always go to this location and have never once had an issue with anything, today was the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered anywhere… ground beef was on sale 2.99 a pound so I pre planned with my shopping to grab 4 packages because I have a large family and it’s a good deal. I go in and grab everything on my list and go to check out cashier says “oh there is a limit of 2 packages of hamburger” I said well I didn’t see a sign that says that back there and I budgeted this based on my list (which came from their website) even when you do a pick up order it allows you to add as many packages as you want. The cashier goes to get her manager he says “what’s the problem here” I explained the situation and he said “well I can’t change our limits, there is a sign back there” I said ohh there is a sign back there now? He said no it’s been back there all week. So I decide to just have my daughter go get a regular package of hamburger for the higher price, she comes back with the same meat that was on sale, I said I’ll just go grab it myself so I go to the back grab the pack of hamburger and right above my head is a huge sign saying the ground beef is on sale for 2.99 a pound with no limits listed. I go back to the register, checkout and see the manager and let him know that maybe they need to update their signage as the one they have hanging does not show a limit his response was “well it’s a known thing that we limit our sale items” I said that’s false advertisement, he was just so unbothered and really didn’t care I asked if they had a district manager the answer was no… worst experience ever not to mention I have bought the same sale from there on hamburger and every time there was no limit. Do not recommend this store at all, I’ll travel to Howland and shop their giant eagle but I will never make another purchase in this grocery...

First time shopper at this store I wasn't impressed I asked a store employee who was on the cell phone what aisle the chips were in she told me go all the way down, I said to the other end of the store she said yes the chips were one aisle over from where she was on the phone the woman in the deli told me where they were and she was very polite and then Tammy the cashier was very rude she even took my bags of groceries and threw it on top of my dinner rolls and chips No need to do that there was nobody behind me And then I found out I paid $2.30 for one tomato that weighed a half a pound asked for my money back They told me I'd have to wait till 9:00 which is unacceptable I didn't tell no one in the store they had to wait till 9:00 for me to pay them And I probably won't ever stop at this store again I was getting a few things for my elderly mother she asked me to put gas in her car while I was there It turns out that you're advantage card only works at certain Giant eagles she said I had perks on it but I couldn't use it at that store because apparently my mother uses her Giant eagle card at the Niles store which has no gas station so when using your perks where do you get gas if you can only get gas from the store you shop at So what good does the perks do you if you shop at a Giant eagle that has no gas You can't get it anywhere else none of the get-go's If she would have shopped on Belmont and got her card from Belmont she could get gas from there but since she uses her card and Niles store that has no gas station she can't use her card at all for gas So I'm talking to her now about just hanging up cut your losses don't shop the store no more if you can't use your perks for gas What good is it to even have?...So no more...

Employees professional, helpful. Store very clean. Cooked Deli area always smells great of chicken, roast beef, soups, plus a person can eat it there in a little dining area if just coming in for a lunch... or anytime if hungry or for more then most..just to take home for supper. Bakery smells great, good selection cakes, donuts, etc and of breads, (except need more rye and pumperknickle..pumpernickle buns too). Fresh veg and fruits. Great selections of wine and beer. State Liquer Agency franchise (as my old G.E. Store in Madison Ohio has) would be nice. Trust G.E. with there meats to be of good quality...No GMO, NO ANTIBIOTICS, NO WEIRD STUFF. WE DO NOT BUY IMPORTED FISH, SO it would be great to find USA fish, veg, fruits instead of foreign Chinese & Mexican stuff. There are plenty of farmers in The Good Ole USA. Pharmacy folks are always great, helpful, smiling as well. Could use air freshener in men's room. Could use a little more handicapped parking spaces. Get Go is great addition and convenience to store. ...as well as its perks. All over pricing would be great if lowered, G.E would see more customers then let's say Wal Mart.. or other stores like it...
