Almost Sisters LLC went to the Metroplex as vendors for the 2022 Sugar Show. This was our first time at a Metroplex event, and it was wonderful! The producers and staff were helpful, responsive and informative, and the event was well-organized and fun for both vendors and guests alike.
We booked this show at the last minute, because our vacation plans changed, but the staff treated us with the same respect and consideration as they treated their veteran vendors. They communicated with us both by emails and phone to ensure that we understood everything, and had what we needed to put on a great show.
The event itself was creatively thought out, too. The theme was Candyland, and the whole event was layed out like a giant Candyland board, and guests were given a game that encouraged them to visit all the vendors and interact with them. We had tons of visitors at our booth and sold out of a lot of our items!
The facility was also kept very clean during the event, and staff were easy to find with any questions.
If you are looking for a place to host an event or looking for a place to sell as a vendor, I recommend...
Read moreI had to cancel my wedding reception in August b/c currently there is a 10 minimum gathering allowed in OH, and there is no safe bet to when the restrictions will be lifted and if we're even allowed up to 50 people by then. I wouldn't book here because other than offering to reschedule for next year (who knows when this virus will be over) they would not accept us getting at least half of our deposit back. I didn't think that was unreasonable. That way, at least we both make out. I know we signed our contract, but to not even work with us during a pandemic? We obviously didn't want them to lose out on business, but it's obvious this company only cares about money. If the circumstances were different and everything was normal, I wouldn't be bothered, but I just find that to be disappointing and not good business practice. What a shame. Very disappointed with the Metroplex. I wouldn't book with this venue unless you are absolutely 100% positive that no natural disasters will happen during your...
Read moreUnfortunately, it has been brought to my attention that the business practices of the Metroplex are unprincipled at best. In light of recent events, the current climate of our country and the health and wellness of our community, it has been determined at the national, state and local levels of government that hosting large events are ill-advised. While it has presented a financial hardship for most in the business sector, most businesses have worked with their consumers in an attempt to both satisfy their bottom line but also the safety of attendees. To learn that the Metroplex has not only treated minority organizations (ex. Inspiring Minds) with disregard to their events, but have also chosen to pacify and cater to the needs of other organizations to ensure their events are executed and done so timely is deplorable. To be told directly "The success of your event is no concern of ours” proves that this is neither the venue nor the staff that I would ever consider doing...
