This morning, I went to Limerick Hardware and purchased six vinyl number stickers for my mailbox for $8.84. When I tried to apply the first sticker, it ripped and part of the sticker bonded so securely to my mailbox that now I can't get it off. When I try to peel it off, the sticker breaks up into little pieces. I gave up and tried to return the rest of the stickers to Limerick Hardware within a half hour after the purchase. But the clerk told me that I could not have a cash refund without my receipt, even though the same clerk who had waited on me just minutes earlier was still there! Now I have to make a THIRD trip just to get an eight dollar refund. But it gets better. I proceeded to Home Depot, where I was able to purchase much higher quality aluminum numbers for half the price. I will drive back to Limerick Hardware with my receipt and get my refund, but that will be my last visit. I received an unusable product at an excessive price and no customer service. I have often used limerick hardware for home project supplies as I prefer to support local businesses. However, they have permanently lost my patronage and my respect. I was there on Saturday with my 4 year old son get that one item we ran out of during our build and as I was checking out an older gentleman that was also in line asked a fellow costumer where his mask was. Immediately the cashier asked for a manager to the front of the store. When the manager arrived (also not wearing a masks) he asked the gentleman to leave. The manager then escorted the man off of the property and threatened to call the police because the gentleman wasn’t walking as fast as he would like. It was an abhorrent use of power and pro ledge with very little regard for anyone else around. Try explaining that social interaction to a very observant 4 year old. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. They had a pretty good variety of products. The prices are responsible . They had grass seeds fertilizer different types of soil and mulch straw nuts bolts and washers. Some plumbing repair supplies hand tools gardening tools seeds hand guns rifles and ammunition. They accept credit and debit cards cash I am not sure if they take checks . you can all so set up an account . It's got an old school hardware store feel but has all the modern things that are needed . the restrooms were clean and well kept . The store was extremely clean and well organized .
