Took my cat to look into getting her eye treated due to swelling. The vet diagnosed her with very late glaucoma and recommended removing the eye. He estimated the cost to be around $450, which was tough as I didn't have the money at that moment. I called around, got that much and a bit more just to cover it, and went through with the surgery.
The next day, the price had hiked up to $530 without any explanation, which I didn't have. We eventually settled in the middle and I was able to pay. During this time, the nurse let me know that the eyelid had been stitched shut with very small skin-stitches that should dissolve over time, and that the cat would have to wear a cone. I asked how long until the stitches dissolved, and was told two weeks, and then the cone could come off.
It's been nearly four weeks, and the stitches are still there, not dissolved in the least. I briefly took off the cone per the recommendation even a week overdue, and my cat nearly pulled the stitches out again, hurting herself in the process.
I'm frankly just not sure if these people are trustworthy, at this point. It seems like they're just winging it and lowballing whenever they're asked anything. My cat seems to see worse, now, despite the doctor saying she was already blind in the affected eye, so I'm not even sure if the surgery was necessary. I'd recommend maybe visiting the animal clinic in Pell City over this place. I've never had any issues with them, but my one experience here was awful in...
Read moreI called Dr. Hillman after hours regarding our "baby", a 10 yr old teacup poodle, who had suddenly developed a distended abdomen; bloat. Dr. Hillman offered to return to the clinic for us, or he offered a treatment that we could try at home; simethicone liquid (Baby Gas drops). We followed his directions regarding the simethicone treatment and within an hour our baby was well on her way to recovery. This morning she is only showing signs of being "worn out" from her experience (as I'm sure we all would!), but otherwise is her normal self. I understand now that canine bloat can be, and usually is, fatal if not treated immediately and properly. My wife and I are new to the area and had no knowledge of Lincoln Veterinary Clinic until last nights episode and subsequent internet search for local veterinarians. Thank you Dr. Hillman for making yourself available and for helping us to help our baby. You and your clinic will be TOP on our list the next time we need veterinary care...
Read moreDr. Hillman to the rescue! Our fur baby was very sick and lethargic. We became very concerned about him after hours on Saturday. We called Lincoln Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Hillman called us right back. After hearing the symptoms, he agreed that Jake needed to be seen so he came at met us Saturday after hours to check him out. He gave him the antibiotic shots he needed, gave us instructions, and felt confident enough to send him home with us. Today was a great day! He's beginning to seek out water again (he wouldn't tough food or water the last two days) and even took a little "sun tan" this morning. We are so grateful for Dr. Hillman!
In addition, it was a large bill for us ($185.42). That's something we could not pay at once. I spoke with Sondra this morning, and have agreed to work out a payment plan. It was like a gift from God.
THANK YOU Dr. Hillman, Sondra, and Lincoln Veterinary Clinic, for...
