I have been to rainbow comics several times and have decided to buy my comics from a retailer who actually wants to sell me comics! I always give a new place several chances before giving up on them. Rainbow has a policy on new release day that you can only buy 2 of the same comic, which I understand due to people trying to buy every copy if it is a hot comic. However, I strongly disagree that a variant cover should fall under this rule! Different cover-different comic! Not only do they have this policy, it seems to change based on who is working. I have been told in the past I can only purchase 1, forcing me to leave behind a plethora of variants. I purchase between $200-300 in comics when I go to the shop and a different shop has been the recipient of my money as of late. I try to plan out which comics I wish to buy for the week before I even go to the shop. Rainbow has made it almost impossible to get the comics I wish to purchase forcing me to go elsewhere either in town or online. The biggest problem with online is by the time I have been rejected by rainbow, these variants are sold out online forcing me to spend extra money through eBay since it’s the only place left to find it. Apart from the variant rule, they handle your comics with almost no care. I have had so many comics dinged up from them handling them like gorillas! If you do buy from them spend the extra money and put your comics in the loose bags and boards they have for sale if you wish to keep them in the same condition. I now buy most of my comics online from midtown comics. No limit unless it’s a limited print, free bags and boards and comics always come in 9.6-9.8 condition. Went in not expecting much but they had everything I wanted to buy. Was even willing to pay a little more to “shop local” but apparently you can’t buy a whole box of magic cards. Wasn’t wanting to haggle or anything. Just wanted a box of cards and they lost out on almost $300 and any future business I would have given them. There was no sign stating that there was a limit on how many packs of something you could buy. I loved my visit to Rainbow! Tim and Taylor (sp?) were wonderful.

I’m an Image comics girl and Tim went on a deep dive with me into all of the different Image graphics they had at the shop and which he thought I would like.

I would come back just for the lovely employees alone. Not to mention their large selection of graphics they have available. I prefer graphics to individual issues personally so I loved that.

They also have a large selection of back issue individual comics available as well.
