The menu here? Oh my! It's so hard to pick what to have!
I must have spent a good 10 minutes on three different locations for days before going here. Trying to decide what to get, And it was all useless.
Too many good options!
I got the Persea Omelette, but they were put of Green Chile. Had spinach instead. The omelette was amazing! So big and so fresh! It was actually steaming when I cut into it. Very much loaded with chicken and cheese and the spinach and everything. The house made salsa.. So freaking good! It was kind of spicy and went amazingly well with the omelette. I asked for an English muffin on the side and it never came. Had to ask for it and then it came - toasted with the butter and everything. I like my butter on the side so had to get that replaced.
I also got the strawberry walnut salad - no walnuts, only almonds. They forgot to put the almonds on there, So I had to ask for that part separately as well. My fiance also got the same salad (everything on) and his came just right. The dressing.. Bacon Vinaigrette.. just beautiful! It really paired so well with the fresh strawberries and the blue cheese. Quite some big pieces of strawberries in there which was good but there was also a lot of blue cheese in big crumbles. This got a little too hard to have because of the flavor came out too strong. We both removed some blue cheese on the side. Overall really amazing salad though.
Fiancé also got the Turkey Apple Sandwich. This one was loaded! A very generous amount of the turkey breast as well as bacon and melted cheese and everything was on point. There weren't any greens in the sandwich and We both tend to find sandwiches without greens too heavy on the meat, but this one was perfect! You really didn't feel too much meat in there. Just spot on.
We also got a side of sweet tots - These look really pretty. I was expecting them to be crispy but they were more on the softer side. Also very very oily so I don't think we would...

Food 5* If you want a freshly breaded chicken fried steak this is the place to go! Sausage gravy is full of flavor and boasts chunks of meat. The gravy is creamy with bursts of flavor! Hands down the BEST place in Lincoln to get chicken fried steak. Eggs were cooked perfectly to an over easy. I would have preferred a little more crisp to my hash browns, but giving a full 5* since that’s just a preference for me!
If you are in the mood for something sweet check out their homemade pop tarts! They are flaky and delicious! Flavors rotate seasonally but during this visit they had Brown sugar, strawberry, and caramel apple. We tried the brown sugar, which was amazing! Highly recommend the homemade pop tart if you have a sweet tooth.
Service 4* Our server seemed to be all business. She was quick on getting our order in, came to check on us once throughout our meal. They were very busy on the Sunday so I understand being hurried, however when she did speak with us there was 0 eye contact. Looked down at her order pad the whole time.
We also had to wait on our homemade pop tart. When the kitchen brought our food out the pop tart was not with our order. Waited approximately 10 minutes for the pop tart after our other food came. The kitchen staff did apologize for the mistake.
Atmosphere 5* Good Evans is your typical brunch location. Some booths available and some tables. White walls with decor throughout. Restaurant was clean and inviting.
Overall Good Evan’s is one of our favorite breakfast/brunch spots in Lincoln. They get extremely busy during peak breakfast hours on Saturday and Sundays so plan accordingly.
They were able to put our name into the system and sent a text message when our table was ready. Super nice to sit in your car while waiting...
Read moreAfter a long sleepless night, we decided we were too tired to cook, and went out for brunch at Good Evan’s. It was Easter Sunday and we expected a long wait, but were pleasantly surprised when we were seated almost immediately. Noticed very quickly the modern decor and vibe, which was not entirely expected. I was looking for a more of a classic breakfast joint but the modern aesthetic didn’t put me off too much. I figured that if the food matched the vibe, it would be all right.
She started with an oat milk iced latte with sugar free vanilla syrup. You could tell the coffee was of good quality. We both enjoyed it. I ordered the Nebraska Bene, she got the Acapulco Bene.
The Nebraska Bene was fantastic, the basil tomato and balsamic were reminiscent of a wood fired pizza, and the short rib worked in to all of it very nicely.
The Acapulco Bene was not so good. The chorizo patty was salty and overpowering, combined with the hollandaise, it was far too rich.
The sides, tater tots and hash browns, respectively, were fantastic. Crunchy on the outside and well seasoned, we both very much enjoyed sharing each others sides.
We ended the meal with a single blueberry pancake, which was very good and a fair price. And it was huge!
Overall, I enjoyed Good Evan’s and would recommend it to a friend, just beware of what you’re...
