Do NOT get a pedicure here. First of all, I have been pondering whether or not to write a review and to even call the salon to express how dissatisfied I was with my pedicure, but here I am. I feel as though this post is absolutely warranted. I have gotten my hair done at Tranquility for years and have always had a great experience, so I figured I would book a pedicure because I wanted a spa experience and to be more pampered than I would at a typical nail salon. However, that was the exact opposite. Not only was I not aware, nor TOLD that their pedicures are DRY pedicures, but their services are extremely limited. The girl who did my nails was very sweet and I could tell was very young. She was 18 years old and just started working there in April she said. As she began my pedicure, which lasted a total of 45 minutes and included shellac (which was an addition $10 charge), I knew this was going to be a less than pleasant experience. My feet were rubbed down with lotion, than an exfoliant, then lotion again. That was it. She filed my nails but did NOT trim my cuticles, do any kind of foot massage, or callus removal that was note worthy to say the least. I saw the tools that were used for trimming my cuticles and dead skin around each nail bed laying right there and asked if she was going to use it and her response was âoh no, that is like a safety hazardâ and I said âoh, well if youâre not comfortable using it then thatâs okâ. What?!! I did not want the situation to be more uncomfortable than it already was so I let her proceed. She started painting my nails and I asked if she was going use the callus removal tool AS she started painting my nails and she said âoh sureâ âŚand that experience was less than delightful. I could have done a better job myself. Overall, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. The polish was terrible as well as it bled over onto my skin and cuticles as well. Not very clean at all. I understand that everyone has to start somewhere and I do not discredit the girl at all, I still tipped her after it was all said and done, however I feel like she needs alot more training and Tranquility should not be allowed to get away with charging $70 for a shellac SPA pedicure when the price merely constitutes for MAYBE a $25 pedicure. Sadly, I will never go back for a...
Read moreNow this was just my experience, so take it for what you will. Not at all impressed by Tranquility Salon and Spa. Two stars is GENEROUS. For one, not tranquil at all. They have the stations jammed on top of one another and way too many for a such a small space. I went in for a haircut/trim and was left feeling extremely underwhelmed. My hair had been twisted into a clip all day and when I took it out it had kinks and waves in it, itâs normally straight. Didnât wash it or wet it. Decided to still dry cut it⌠didnât brush it out didnât even attempt to evenly part my hair. Just asked me how I part it and I did a haphazard job of it and she just started cutting. If I have to tell you every step of what you should be doing, you should pay me at the end of it all. Iâm a child of hairdressers. My parents owned a full service salon for 40 years. I grew up in the business and I was appalled at the lack of effort by that stylist and by the business itself. There was no customer service, no atmosphere, no experience; and for those prices, there should be. I spent all of maybe 10 minutes in the chair and was charged $43 for an inch of chair cut off. She was younger than me, so Iâm not paying for years of experience either. Wasnât offered a beverage or anything to enhance the experience of being there. Will never return and will make sure anyone who asks knows about my lackluster experience. Very...
Read moreIf I'm rating my stylist (Alexis) she'd get 10/10. The professionalism of the owner is appalling however. I went in for an appointment with Alexis yesterday. It cost $170 and I wanted to give her a 20% tip, making the total $204. The girl at the front desk couldn't get the credit card processor to work. I told her I would be back in in a couple days to have my hair fixed since the color was wrong, and could pay the balance then, or could call back and pay over the phone since they couldn't get my payment to process while I was there. I received a phonecall and an email from Tasha the owner this morning making it seem like I chose to just not pay my bill, when that is absolutely not the case. Part of the email read, "If you could call the salon at your earliest convenience as we did not get payment for your service yesterday. The girl working the front desk was under the understanding you would be paying later, but we do not take on account payments." I'm paying a lot of money to have my hair done and to feel like I'm being accused of stealing services that I TRIED TO PAY FOR at the time of service is disrespectful. The owner really needs to rethink how she words her emails when talking to clients. Very disappointed in the way she chose to contact me regarding payment (that again, I didn't willingly choose...
