I purchased two Bassett Benchmark Electric Recliners @ $1,845 each. Sent the chairs back to Bassett for warranty work. The Chair(s) came back with the same squeaky headrest. My husband took these chairs to the Mart for the first "repair." David wanted $200 for them to pick them up for the " 2nd repair" to again send them back to Bassett. I refused to pay and never heard from David again. I wonder if the older gentleman who helps people, knows how David operates? This older gentleman felt bad, and said to me, "Well we sold them to you." Making it sound like they were going to take care of this issue.
When the chairs originally came back from Bassett's "warranty" work, David said the problem was a "new screw," (he pointed to another chair with the same issue, going out for "repair.").
Why should we pay a dime for what is a defective screw(?). I wonder if David still sells this Bassett Benchmade recliner knowing my chairs were never fixed and they're using a "new screw." Selling a defective product????
I contacted Bassett....no response. We retired and bought these chairs to relax in. Squeak squeak! I will never set foot in their store again or purchase a Bassett product. BUYER BE WARE! Let me add to this: months ago the power to the chairs has gone "crazy." The foot rests only work if you sit forward and give a push to the rests and then the electric kicks in. Hoping to put the two chairs to rest in a backroom! Never spending hard earned money like that again! 04/25 Update: both motors died soon after the post above. My husband is handy and was able to get one motor working. So, no recliner for him! My brother-in-law recently visited. Said they we nice looking chairs. I promptly told him, and that's it! He's looking but will avoid Bassett and watch out for...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience. In 2013 we bought a living room set and what we thought was a bed wooden headboard. We also bought 2 twin mattresses. So they made out well with that sale. However when they delivered the items and attached the headboard to the bed frame, they cracked it and never said anything. I happened to notice it a few days later. When I called they brought someone out only to tell me that it was a foot board and that is why it did not fit right on the frame. Even though they offered to take it back, they said they did not have anything else in stock so we just kept it. A few months of having a new living room set, the back wood board of one side of the couch broke when sitting back on it. The wood made the material rip and it looked terrible. I called them and they said they would have someone come out to look into the repairs. Needless to say no one called me back and it never got fixed. We had to throw out a new couch. I also noticed that the label on the couch said it was from Ashley Furniture. I specifically went to Carolina furniture to get away from poor quality and get something strong. So much for that. Their furniture is poor quality with cheep processed wood. Their sales person didn't even know the difference between a headboard and a foot board and their follow through to satisfy a customer's needs was terrible by not having someone come out to our home to fix the couch. I am extremely disappointed with them and I will never shop there again. I highly recommend that you be couscous if you go there but I would never recommend this store. We spent $$$$ and got terrible quality and customer...
Read morePlease read to the end All I can say about my experience today is wow. Parents and grandparents beware! This is not a place you want to go. Definitely not parent/kid friendly. Went to Carolina Furniture Mart today to look for bedroom furniture. I had my 11 month old grandson with me as I am his full time caregiver. As I entered the store, before the door even closed behind me, an employee was rushing towards me to inform me that no strollers are allowed. No hello, no pleasant greeting. I said wow that’s going to make it really difficult to shop; you all are not very considerate of those with children. She states it’s the owners decision. I said I hope that you will communicate to the owner how difficult that makes things and it’s very inconsiderate. Next thing I know another lady comes around the corner with the owner. I express my concerns and dissatisfaction to him. He says I can carry the baby. I am a small framed woman so carrying a 25 pound baby for any duration would not be an easy task. When I expressed how difficult that would be for me the owner then suggests I leave the baby with the office ladies while I shop. WHAT??!! What planet is this man on? His solution is for me to leave my grandson with STRANGERS! I have never experienced something so ridiculous! I informed him that he had lost me business and promptly left. I will never do business...
