RUN, do not walk away from ordering from JMP!!! We were optimistic because we liked their products, but we were still a little apprehensive given all the negative reviews this company has. Please listen to them! The reviews speak the truth and they speak for themselves. I would not have done this had I known what I know now.
Starting out, your order will take weeks longer than what the website says. And when you call to ask about the status they just make empty promises that'll it'll be tomorrow, if not for sure the next day. I got this response for 2 weeks before our initial order shipped.
When the order finally arrived, 1 piece was missing entirely. 2 other pieces arrived damaged. I sent an email about the missing piece and broken items on April 16th. You can't talk to somebody about this, you must send an email for some ridiculous reason. The missing piece finally shipped out today, April 27th. The damaged pieces must be sent back, and they must receive them, and then they will send you a replacement. But you'll wait almost 2 weeks just to get a return label emailed to you. Then you must wait for the piece to arrive back to them, and then you have to wait for who knows how long for them to ship the new pieces out. Probably a month+ because they are unable to ship anything out in a timely fashion. So given the timeline, that option will take 2+ months. So 1 damaged piece I just had to buy locally and I'll just send it back and get a refund, maybe, if I'm lucky. The other piece was unique and not something that I can get anywhere else. So we had to try to fix the item and now it is just being installed cracked and subpar. We attempted to get a partial refund--we are having to use this damaged piece because them sending a replacement out is not a reasonable option at this point. But they absolutely refuse to do a partial refund, for any reason. You must send it back and then you have to wait for them to send a new one. Let's talk about shipping that damaged piece back that we just replaced locally....we only finally got a shipping label emailed to us on April 25th. We sent the initial email to them out on April 16th. That long just to get a return label emailed to us.
Our project needed to be pushed out over a month because of this nightmare of a company. Normally it wouldn't be a huge issue, but our contractor had to push back his wrist surgery 2 weeks because of the delays. The missing piece will finally arrive after his rescheduled surgery. Will it arrive in good shape or at all? Who knows! Luckily it's just a newel post cap, so I think we can attach that ourselves after the fact. But this was all avoidable had they stuck to their quoted time and had their products not arrived missing or damaged.
When you call, you are unable to talk to a manager or anybody higher than the phone operators, so don't even bother asking. Hopefully someday we will get our refund for the broken piece. Hopefully someday that missing piece will arrive. And I just have to deal with the fact that I paid full price for a piece that is now damaged but installed in my railing.

Read moreVery disappointing!! It’s been a month and a half and I am still waiting for my order - JMP has no idea where my order is and they want me to pay a 30% cancellation fee if I want to cancel - and that’s not all - they will only give me a store credit said manager/owner Scott.
Seems to me like JMP will do anything to sell you something (even make false promises) but if they don’t follow through, the customer has to pay for it! I was going to give these guys a really good review but I would stay away from here.
I placed an order for my entire staircase at JMP WOOD. I told the sales person (Kevin) multiple times that I DID NOT want anything that would take longer than two weeks to get. Kevin told me that one part was custom but it would reach the store within two weeks - when this part didn’t arrive after 15 business days I called the store (they told me that the part did not arrive and that I would have to wait 20-24 business days) Kevin left me a voicemail saying that he was “surprised that it hadn’t been done yet and that he was going to look into it to get me the part ASAP). I waited and called JMP again after 24 business days and they would say “we need to check - can we call you back?” BUT THEY NEVER DO. Both my contractor and I are tired of calling JMP. We had to get this part from another stairs store so we could install the staircase. I called JMP today and they tell me that they can cancel my order but I would have to pay a 30% cancellation fee and they will only give me a store credit. I asked where is the product? Has it arrived? And they...

Communication - Basically zero. Ordered, waited several weeks, called for an update, no answer. Sent messages on the website and an email. Took a couple days to reply. Reply was that the posts we ordered take 21 days to produce, didn't know they also grew the lumber or have a hamster wheel powered lathe? Then we await the posts, only for them to actually take about 35 days to produce and ship. Again, after several attempts, was able to obtain at least an update for my client.
Shipping - Rail, posts, and spindles, came out fine. Rosette came all dented and gashed up, because they shipped it loose on the box with the spindles, sitting right on top of all the metal hardware, that it got to bounce against during shipping. Back to communication, UPS called to confirm freight delivery and delivered, before JMP even sent the email that it had shipped.
Product - Everything else came out looking fine. Except for the ZipBolt drilling kit. They literally sent me a used one or something. Not in great shape, hopefully it gets the job done.
