Lorton Farmer's Market — Local services in Lorton

I was rather surprised not to find any stands which have organic vegetables. I was looking for organic swiss chard, organic kake, organic spinach, organic strawberries but there were no vendors who carried. The prices for conventional vegetables was higher in my opinion than organics than whole foods market. If fruits or vegetables are on the dirty dozen list i prefer organics as a person who is diagnosed with cancer. Pesticides and herbicides are known to cause cancer. Though not all vegetables need to be organic and those probably are a good value. So im only saying buy clean 15 fruits and vegetables is probably ok. They have amazing vendors. Super friendly lots of samples to try. I recommend stopping by Suka Nuts they have some delicious fruit& Nut butters to sample as well as their seasoned nut varieties. Hot&spicy to sweet & crunchy Candied Pecans. They offer a few other sweet things that can’t be found outside of the market....

Great selection of food options. Different vendors give the place a good variety. The strudels and empanadas are really good. The produce is very fresh and not expensive at all. You can even talk to vendors not selling anything. They accept EBT if you need it. Great farmer’s...
